Re: Question about kit selection and joining squads..
I hate medic class, the guns seem so inaccurate and as already said, a person can hardly revive anybody, gotta shock them 3 times to get them up it seems like. Also as a medic I will not charge right out and revive somebody if I know the enemy that killed them is still there, no use in both us dying. I have got so much slack from that when I do play medic as well that I usually end up switching kits, if that person can play medic better than so be it...DO IT. It depends all on what team I am playing on for my comfort zone. If playing U.S. I would rather go with the support or spec op cause I love the automatic fire rate in close quarters and hate the burst fire rate on other weapons, although I usually have my gun on single fire most of the time till I get in close quarters. I have been killed so many times due to that burst, lol. When I join I usually look at what kits my squad has then if I see they might need some other kit then I try to get it, after my first spawn and death then I will ask SL which kit they would preferr me to have.

Re: Question about kit selection and joining squads..
I haven't noticed the Medic kit rifles being any less or more accurate than other non-scoped ones.
The M16A2 certainly seems to perform the same regardless of whether I'm issued it as part of the Medic, Rifleman, Grenadier, Crewman or Combat Engineer kits when I'm playing on the USMC team. |

Re: Question about kit selection and joining squads..
As mentioned earlier, Im more than happy to grab the Med kit as a 1st choice - but heres a procedure that makes our life easier and has a better chance of getting you back on your feet.
1. Call for Help: If youre wounded, call for a freaking medic... It takes just a sec. We can see on the mini who's down/critical, who's up/hurt and who's asking for help. First priority is usually the critical guys (esp the SLs - even other SLs in front of my own squadmates as they are also spawn points) because reviving is shorter than a lengthy heal and anyways gets another gun on the battlefield to defend the medic. If there are several bodys and no SLs down, I zap other Medics first as they can help. Next priority is those asking for help - because this shows that that player is willing to work with you over top of guys that are simply red and maybe someone you have to chase after to heal them. 2. Get to Cover: If you call for a medic, get to them. Seems obvious, but you can see us too on your mini once you do and I dont know how many dudes I have to chase after. If I have to take more than 20 steps with you going the wrong direction, and clearly not to get to cover, I'll hook up with ya once youve bled out. Right - once you have the attention of a nearby medic, find suitable cover for the both of you. If the area is hot, a Follow Me order also helps a ton as you probably know more about where the bad guys are than I do. 3. Be Patient: Once in cover, please recognize that a dead medic doesnt do anybody any good. If youre with a medic and he's on his feet looking straight down, then he probably needs a bag as bad as you do. Let him get his vision back and then attend to you. Crying Medic 10 times while he is doing this wont help any if he cant even see straight. Related issue, sometimes we have more than one guy to heal. In this case, I'll heal one guy to the point where he stops bleeding out and then turn to the other. Note that it takes a good 10 seconds to get you back 100% and you can see the + sign when youre getting healed. For gods sake dont leave until the medic pulls out a weapon as this is a sure fire way of knowing everybody is back to snuff. 4. Take up Defense: In other words, dont stick your @ss in my face. Most guys get all squirmy and try crawling right into your player model when getting healed. Closer is not always better and for petes sake hold still. Realize that except for wrenching, youre almost always armed and dangerous where we're not when healing. If I see a tango come around a corner and I gotta pull and shoot thru your intestines so be it. For that matter, I prefer a player to take a knee once rezzed. That way, Im not in your way, youre not in my way no matter which way an enemy pops up. Lying on top of each other - we're both dead. You up on one knee, hopefully they see you first... Youve got a weapon in your hand, I dont and anyways I can revive you a 2nd time. 5. Say Thanks: Takes a second but is nice to hear. I dont know why it is, but it always seems like the better players say thanks more often. The best sign of appreciation is picking up a med pack when you see a medic get shot and get him back up. As seen in this thread, there arent many of us ... so who's around to revive the medics? If youre worried about losing your kit then find any other body on the ground and swap the med kit out for it. Call Follow Me again and the medic should pick his paddles back up dropping your kit. Keep these things in mind and things should go smoothly. May take a few extra seconds but is it really any longer than waiting another 30 to spawn back at some other point?
