Re: The new patch

Sounds being quiet inside is a feature for multiple reasons:

1) crew inside vehicles SHOULD not be able to hear things outside their vehicle like grass swaying, footsteps, and even small arms fire should be very queit. This is working as intended. The downfall of this is that things like your gunner firing and taking incoming enemy fire is not heard. We are working on increasing the sounds for these in v0.7

2) Now you can finally have a normal conversation with your crew/copilot without shouting over the incredibly loud engine. This is also realistic because all crew/pilots wear noise cancelling headset/helmets that cancels out the sound of the engine of your vehicle.

Scores:

they are a bit screwed up at the moment. However they still reward players who work together, a squad that sticks together will get exponentially more points than a squad that is all spread out over the map. Obviously there is some problems with points getting too high and will be fixed in v0.7 (as well I hope we will FINALLY remove the in game scoreboard)

Re: The new patch

At first sight, unless there is something else wrong with my pc, I seem to have taken yet another performance hit. It seems the load of the mod is constantly rising. I used to play ejod fine, last night I could only "rubberband" across the map. I regret it's gotten quite that unplayable for me.

Yes, the noise canceling thing inside the helo, was quite useful, made it easier to speak. However the VOIP wasn't working on the server, so I couldn't test it out, but it sounds good. I'm glad you chose to put the Apache on Kashan, it really was one hell of a fun game I had!

I'm glad you cannot hear the footsteps of soldiers anymore, I always use to sneak up to a tank, where the tank driver just reversed and killed me as he heard my footsteps previous! Now it'll make tank killing more fun as they know have a significant weakness!

Also it doesn't take that long to download the patch! Just took like 10 minutes! It's worth the wait!

I wanted to go SL considering I was the gunner, however he didn't want it.

Re: The new patch

I played for 45 minutes and got a blue-screen-of-death while driving an APC! I hope that was just a coincidence...but my sound was bugging out right before it happened.

Re: The new patch

I DL'd it last night and couldn't play because the server hadn't upgraded yet. But World in Conflict arrived in the post today so I'm gonna be taking time off from PR, but I'll be back.

You didn't think you could get rid of me that easily, did you?
