Heh, dont worry about it.
How about instead of crunching the sig, why not just reduce the size of the render?
Also, making a border is easy. What image manipulation program are you using?

Photoshop CS2, and I have yet to understand what this "Rendering" stage/tool/item/whatcherjigger is.

The render is the picture you build you sig around. Like your infantrymen in the grass.
For a border, select all, then stroke to selection, then a 3 pixel wide line.
I use GIMP, so I'm not sure the exact procedure for PS, but it's pretty easy.

OK, here is my first attempt making a sig using GIMP. Do not post in reply telling me to buy/pirate photoshop because I will not. Basically i fooled around with the burn tool to make darker effects and such.
Now that I look back on it, I see the text could be modified and the image used itself is pretty crappy.

yeah the font is too dark.
But stock up on fonts man! there's a lot of free websites, just 'google' it
fonts will make a lot of difference!

I found a 100,000+ font pack at the mall today for $3....... amazing.
