You can color it the color of the forum or use transparency on the outside. Then save the image as a .PNG.
You may have to play with the settings to get it right.

The border got messed and I dont like the colours. But practise makes perfect

Just came across this little tweaking website that rounds the corner off any picture.
Neat thing is it gives you the option on the 2nd page to make it a .pgn file with clear backround. Just did my sig to test
