Helo squads will depend on the map. For Basrah I offer you this :

    Fireteam 1 : Cobra gunner / pilot
    Fireteam 2 : Cobra gunner / pilot
    Fireteam 3 : UH60
SL : CCT primarily, UH60 where required

The cobras operate as a 2 aircraft unit primarily and run solo missions where required. I list them as individual fireteams because my experience is that you rarely keep both birds up constantly. I'm including rearm / repair and being destroyed as down time.

    Muttrah :

    Fireteam 1 : 3 x MH6 - insertion / extraction
    Fireteam 2 : 1 x AH6 - gun runs on request from ground-based SLs
    Fireteam 3 : 1 x UH60 - suppression fire / CSAR
    SL : CCT

Re: Library of Squad Types and Operational Basics

Squad: Any one with Top Cat AJA as Squad leader.

Description: Either infantry only, Infantry + APC, Infantry + Tank or Infantry + Light air transport helicopter (aircav as some of you like to call it)

    Infantry only:

    FTA:

    1) FTA Leader and entire squad point man
((Rifleman - ammo provider for FTA and FTB (Return to FTB possition, drop ammo bags off, and then back to orgninal possition - vitaly important manovour))

    2) Medic
(Avoids moving to FTB possition to heal them - stick with FTA at all times if possible)

    3) Situation dependant kit 1
(((L-AT or H-AT - IF there is a significant APC or MTB threat) or (Grenadier - IF major infantry threat) or (Engineer - IF asset/bridge/ door ext. required)))

    FTB:

    1) Squad Leader

    2) Medic
(Avoids moving to FTA posstion to heal them - sticks to FTB at all times if possible)

    3) Situation dependant kit 2
(((Support kit - 1st request kit) or (Rifleman - standard spwn kit) or (Deg. Marksman - IF major longrange infantry threat)))

    Infantry + APC

    FTA:

    1) FTA Leader
(same kit as in Infantry only squad)

    2) Medic

    FTA or APC group

    3) Engineer
(IF FTA requires more infantry support he sticks with FTA Leader but IF the APC either requires repairing or needs greater infantry protection he sticks with the APC)

Inderpendant of Fireteams and APC group

    4) Squad leader
(Generaly sticks with APC due to increased safety provided comapared with FTA, however if FTA requires signifcant in support will stick to FTA and lead it directly)

    APC group

    5) APC driver

    6) APC gunner

    Infantry + Tank

    1), 2), 3), 4), 5) and 6) - Identical layout to APC + Infantry squad.

    Infantry + Heli (Aircav)

    1), 2), 3), 4), 5) - Indentical layout to Infantry only squad.

    Helicopter

    6) Helicopter Pilot

p.s please note once .6 is out and definately by .7, 2 - 4man squads acting as one squad will be used by myself almost always on TG password nights and signifcantly in standard games BECAUSE ONLY 2/3 players needed on TG teamspeak server, rather than previously planned 8. So, until them, the above is how i run my show always....well try to! *smirk*
