I realized that some of the entries under "Library of Squad Types" thread are in fact "Mission Types" rather than squad setups.
I just wanted to make the distinction clear by creating this separate thread.
TG COs and SLs, lets see how many different types of missions we can assign to our squads.
Base Defense
Defending a base by taking positions inside or nearby.
Zone Defense
Squad is positioned between two or more bases and basically controls a zone instead of a particular base. Observation and fire discipline are essential. Squad members are spread out to observation posts. When enemy is spotted, squad is regrouped before engagement. Enemy can be surprised and ambushed since they are focused on the target base usually dont expect resistance on the way.
I hope Crawlingeye doesnt mind, I thought his entry is more suitable for this thread and I am entering it under Zone Defense.

This way you don't need to have 2 squads per flag
(Total of 4 squads on the def) to defend.
Instead you only need 1 squad per flag and
a squad that moves in to reinforce is needed to.
(Btw, this is originaly Blitzer66's idea)
Essential Kits/Equipment:
1) Sniper/Marksman [observation and long range engagement]
2) Binocular(s)
3) AT
4) Mines [For bridges and narrow passages]
Additional Notes
- Controlling map points with heavy enemy traffic (Ex. a critical bridge) can also be considered as zone defense.
Keywords
- observation, strategic points, ambush, fire discipline
Base Assault
Objective is to capture enemy base by entering into the capture zone.

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:
