    returning player

    Hi all,

I've been away from TG and gaming in general (more or less) for a while, but re-installed BF2 a couple of days ago and have been having a blast (heh, my last update on the BFHQ page seem to be back in 2006, so it's been a while).

Only just remembered to update to latest version (wondered why the server list was so small).

I re-subbed here this morning too, as although I'd forgotten a lot about BF2, I quickly remembered that it was much more fun playing with you guys than with a server full of spawn campers and suiciding helicopter/jet pilots.

No doubt I'll be digging out my copy of BF2142 too, assuming I can get Vista to play ball with it.

There is only one BF2 vanilla server, however there are other TG servers for different BF mods. Welcome back!

    Here is a list.

    Hey Z,
Like you, I'm back after a few year hiatus. I do have 2412, but recalled, Uninstalling it a few hours after playing it... The game play was similar to BF2, however, with the lack of teamwork, it's just another spray and pray, only with MECHS and flying saucers, not my type of reality. Where as the original BF2, still has a place in my heart. I remember, when I was a Joint Ops, Black Hawk Down fanatic and had to fly that Black Hawk. When BF2 came out and was able to fly that Black Hawk around, more then just in a circle, I was hooked. Sadly, the 2 main reasons I uninstalled BF2 was: 1. Punkbuster errors are just too much. Even with a fresh re-install of PB, I still get "MD5 Tool mismatch" "Client connection failed" "Packet loss" etc. and 2. The load times into servers, for me, cable connection, at least 5minutes or more, and sometimes with the PB error, once I get into the server, I crash to desktop.

But I'm back, and dammit, want to play some Teamwork, communication, squad based tactics in BF2... hit me up.
    I seek Tactical Gamers:
    1. Must use proper communication.
    2. Must use Teamwork.
    3. Enjoy Squad based tactics.
    4. Load-out gear for 9 man squads! (or less depending on game.)
If you match my criteria, then add me to your friends.

QFE - BF2142 on a TG server is a whole different experience compared to Bf2142 on a pubby server.

having said that, I played a few rounds of BF2 this weekend (not on the TG server alas as it was empty ) and it was so much fun...except for the 'nade spamming and my crouch key not working /sigh

If you like BF2, and TG style play, then you really should try POE2
