BF2 vanilla needs revival stat.
Its been a week since the battlefield 2 server was full. Could we try to get it revived this weekend?

I believe the long countdown timer between rounds will cause alot of users to look elsewhere. BF2 is a bit high paced and many players will become disinterested with the wait. Two key points that I have noticed from the Full Contact War server that has helped their numbers -
A. A number of admins on at all times to keep the peace and quickly remove problem players.
B. They have a waiting line for aircraft (which is strictly enforced), which pulls in better pilots, often times not allowing for one sided air superiority. The downfall to this is watching 3-4 players waiting in line for planes, sometimes the entire round.
I used to play the FCW server exclusively until the adminning got out of hand, due to giving it out to anyone who requested it and then a bit of abuse began. When I've returned for an ocassional round, there are alot of one sided (caliber stacked) dominant rounds that were just not fun.
Just a couple of quick thoughts to help the TG server.
Edit - I would hope /think the kickbot for not joining squads would entice more tactical / squad minded gamers to join. Playing in a squad maybe a bit intimidating for new players but the TG mindset of helping & instructing others is an invaluable asset to great teamplay.Last edited by The_Butcher; 09-16-2009 at 09:56 PM.

Actually theres really nothing to be changed. I think what killed it was Suprisingly the kickbot add on when people were forced to join squads or be kicked. I mean who doesn't want to be a part of a squad and use tactics X_X Where's the fun in BF2 with no tactics or squad play like it was meant to be.

0 people seeding the server will = 0 people playing. If you want to see people on it, hop on the server and post in the "I want to play" thread. Can't expect everyone else to do it then hop on when it is half way full.

We need some popular seeding maps too, i'm not sure the 16 player infantry is the best chocie.

The problem isn't with the game, it's the server.
People already have their favourite servers to play on nightly, having a new server pop up in this late stage won't work unless you have dozens of committed people willing to play each and every night for at least a month.

I'd be glad to help seed some. But -every night?- can't do that. Need some 2142 time.

It's all about seeding. Just try it. Hop on the server and hang around. It won't take long until people notice you and join in as well. And whooosh, the server is going.

For what it is worth I am not sure we can keep a Vanilla BF2 server and a POE server populated.
Many of the folks who seeded the Vanilla server a couple of weeks back are the same people who play POE on Tuesday and Friday nights. Sure there were a bunch of players on the Vanilla server from the TG community that I haven't seen on POE, but there were many that were from the POE server.
But maybe the new patch just brought out the curious and now people are back to what they were doing berfore. I have noticed the population on some of the other Vanilla servers has dropped back to pre-patch/new maps days.
Selfishly I wish all the people in and out of TG who were on the Vanilla server would come join us on the POE server, I think with those numbers we could have even better Tuesday/Friday rounds and maybe we could even add another night to the calender.
I do like playing POE more than Vanilla, but more importantly I like playing on TG servers with TG people. So I am all for whichever server we can get going and keep going.
