Lets play this Wed - seed at 7PM EDT
Following up with my post here, lets try an experiment and see how many show up with notice in advance and a set start time.
The seed time is designed not to cater to everyone(impossible) but to encourage most of the early birds to jump on at the same time. Its never too fun slowly trickling in one by one - you can get discouraged that way waiting around. With this set time a game can be started quickly and people who may just want to help seed a bit know when to jump on.
I don't expect to be around until 8EDT ish but I'll make sure some seeding maps we want are queued up. Maps? I will probably put a 40min(?) timelimit in place so no one map lasts forever.
Note: This does not mean we will be playing every Wed. Saturday may see another experiment.|TG-12th|mantis

Darn... 2142 is doing Northern Strike then. Not that I could make either for sure. +1 for Saturday!

yeah northern strike event on BF2142 is going to get in the way of BF2 seeding. Could we move this to the weekend?

The server is totally full right now, you should all fire up your games and try and join.

Re: Lets play this Wed - seed at 7PM EDT
Had some fun moments but numbers were not so good tonight. Maybe we need to advertise the server on other bf2 forums like bf2s and totalbf. Also rethink the maplist and have the pre-round timer lowered to 30-60 seconds. We could give it another try on weekend days perhaps.

Re: Lets play this Wed - seed at 7PM EDT
Yea was first 1 on trying to seed it early at like 5 or so and the most I saw was like 18 or 20 and every1 was in the air so it made ground battles less than enjoyable.
1. being kicked for not making a squad before the game even starts could make us lose some people.
2. need small inf maps at first, 5 on 5 and jets and choppers taking you out get old real fast, save those for larger groups of people.
3. weekends will probably be best time to get the server going, people are in school and or working during the week.

Re: Lets play this Wed - seed at 7PM EDT
I agree with Shane and Buflax, if we want to draw and keep a populated server we may have to make a couple of changes and make sure the map selection induces people to stay.
Saturday has been suggested and that sounds like a good idea.
