Re: Wearing Tags
One of the things i like about this commuity is the open-ness towards new players.
I dont wear the TG tag since i have another one, but i think allowing people to join up with this community by letting them use the tag is very special - and part of TG's succes.
I think everyone that uses the tag will have read your rules, and by using the tag he will become more committed to TG and your rules.
Personally i think TG would lose part of its charm by changing the policy on tags.
Why dont u regulars just form different squads, like [ TG-7th]. This seems a good way to side step the issue raised in this topic

Re: Wearing Tags
I thought about how to go about putting the TG tag on before I did. My solution was to ask permission.

Re: Wearing Tags
That was a really good post. I have to agree with it 100%. Although I think I believe in the same code of ethics and teamwork the rest of TG follows, I don't want to put the tag in my name until I feel like I earned it. I don't want it to be just four characters in front of my name, I want it to be something that I feel I am really a part of and contribute to.
I think that's the real beauty of this place, all of you guys CHOOSE to do it, not because you HAVE to.

Re: Wearing Tags
I went a good month before I added the tags. During that time I was learning what it meant to play on TG, it wasn't until later that I decided I was ready to represent the community in that way.

I just added the Tag to my name and I considered posting to the community to see if I would be accepted into the community by wearing the tag. But I decided to add the tag because i've been given some positive feedback by some of the people I've played with and have received no complaints. All I play is TG now and I'm working on trying to become a supporting member. I hope nobody objects to me wearing the tag and if someone does, like an admin or a reputable player in the community I will remove until I can earn the tag. Thaks

Re: Wearing Tags
Drizzid, I think you are good to go.
Xinc, you too.
Trooper, you are on the money as well.
The flip side of the coin is that admins have stated in the past that all players who wear the TG tag are already on final notice so to speak because they do wear the tag and represent TG.

Re: Wearing Tags
Thanks Pickle for the vote of confidence. I was actually considering removing it because I started to doudt if I am up to TG standards. I have adopted TG as my home and that's all credited to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. The TG tag is not just a tag, it's a spirit. A spirit of fair, honorable and teamwork based gaming that should not be taken lightly. Wear the TG tag as any Marine or any other servicemen/women would wear their uniform, with pride and dignity.
