    Re: Wearing Tags

I am in agreeance with Nemesis. As a new player to TG, I wouldn't dream of arbitrarily throwing the TG tag on. It would be like slapping the supporting members, and older members in the face. I guess I am an old school gamer and believe you must earn your stripes, in the case a tag.

Having said that, even now, as unproved as I am, if someone were to ask me to put the tag on, I would probably decline, until I knew I earned the respect of the TG'ers I played with the most. I realize it's a different policy than most clans or guilds, but I still think acceptance should be earned, even if it is within yourself to measure that. Probably just leftover pride the Marines built into me, Earning the Title...etc etc.

What I think would go a long way in getting the newer players to realize this is: the other inhouse squads should follow what IR's are doing - keep an open blog or thread going. I know there is the 12th, the 7th, the 33rd, but the IR squad is the only squad with active in-squad threads. When you paint the organiztion on the wall, enough people see it, and it becomes an institution. I just think it might help newbies like me realize the pride you all put into your tag and squad.

    Just a thought.

P_D_P, the IRR squad is the only squad that has their team forum open to the public to see. Other squads, like my 4th squad, have their forums kept private.

Oh ok, makes sense. Thanks for correcting hehe. Sorry I left the 4th out of my original post, and any other squads. I guess I just remembered the ones that I see that play the most, but I do remember trying to shoot at a few of you 4th bubbas hehe. Happy hunting all.

    Question TG in your Name

    Hello all TG's

I have been playing BF2 since Feb 06, ever since Experiment626 (nephew) got me hooked playing on the TG server. My question is; can I add TG to my username to show my allegiance, or do I need to be vetted by one of the admins

Wear it with pride, but follow the sop's while wearing it of course, since your representing TG.

    Re: TG in your Name

Hey what's up Reader. You've been playing on the TG server for quite some time. Being able to place the TG prefix before your name isn't like trying to get in with a clan, ie initiation or about allegiance (maybe to some )etc. Being part of the TG community means team play, fun, and mature gaming, all of which I'm sure you're already aware of. Here's an interesting read for you to check out.

If you feel like you fit into our style of play and can represent TG properly outside of the community on other servers and games(which I think you do/and will), I think you'd be alright!!!

Thumbs up Re: TG in your Name

Thanks for the link Clawhammer I'll go check it out. And I do respect the rules and spirit of TG. That is why I asked, I did not want to offend a great group of people that I relly like playing with.

Unfortunately he cannot see private team forums Grunt.

    PDP,

You can check the wiki pages of in-house squads to learn more about them. 1st MIP and other in-house squad members have links to their team wiki page in their signatures.

    Re: Wearing Tags

Outstanding write up! I didn't put the [TG] tag on my name until I was a supporting member even though I didn't have to pay to play. I just felt it was better to have contributed something to the site that allows me to play with like minded adults (no matter the players age) who were in the game in the true spirit of armed combat. There is no place on a BattleField for "me" attitude, it just leaves the rest of your squad strung out and danger close to being hit. That and the [TG] tag is almost a badge of courage for me. I proves to others that I have no problem charging my narrow butt into the hand to hand to secure a flag, even though there's a Santa, Bomando, X626, Reader1234 or other 'badass' in there with a K-bar. It proves to me everytime I see it that I have, on occasion, taken out one of the best on the server and you can bet I wear that thing with PRIDE!

ok guys i know the real source of ITGI because i was one of the first to get it. my friends and i wanted to be remembered through xbox live on halo 2. so we decided to do something. and ITGI is what that thing was. you guys got that the I's are brackets, but the TG is wrong. see we thought we were god-like at halo 2. so we decided that we needed something about being like gods in it. so the TG in ITGI stands for The Gods. not tactical gamer. i didnt even know about this until i was bored today and decided to google my gamertag ITGI Tardo. i saw the link to this forum and read up on it. so the great search is over and you all now know where this familiar ITGI came from.
