Re: Patch for servers out on the 5th
I'm assuming the TG servers will be updated as soon as the client side patch is available?

What exactly was patched? I don't see the details. Hopefully it's not the pitiful amount of stuff that was in an earlier thread about patch details.

Re: Patch for servers out on the 5th
According to PlanetBattlefield heres the list of updates.
The Battlefield 2 website has released the servers files for the 1.01 patch that will be coming out tomorrow (AMENDMENT!! - i.e. today 06/07/05) approx. Noon PST. Here is the changelist:
* Fixed in issue that caused the Multiplayer Browser to become unresponsive.
* Fixed an issue where some game controls were not available to be rebound within the Options menu.
* Fixed an issue with increasing performance degradation on servers.
* Fixed a problem with shader caching on client/host : after the first map in a rotation, shaders would be loaded on the fly during gameplay.
* Fixed a crash with rebinding LMB
* Fixed a problem that caused environment mapping to not appear on reflective surfaces.
* Fixed a crash that happened when a client picks up a kit that doesn't exist anymore.
* Fixed a problem with AI when the game was paused for a long time: bots would become unresponsive and also shoot more accurately.
* LOD distances tweaked on certain objects.

That's worth the patch right there.* Fixed an issue with increasing performance degradation on servers.

Re: Patch for servers out on the 5th
Exactly! I was hoping they would add third party browser support (i.e. ASE) or better yet the ability to connect to the specified IP via command line (so I could make shortcuts for each of the TG servers) since I only play on the TG servers.

Re: Patch for servers out on the 5th
I liked the read about server degradation as well. I wonder what the shader caching is about? Is it saying our clients weren't caching the shaders and loading them on the fly? Maybe I can put this back on high now

Re: Patch for servers out on the 5th
Or maybe the shader thing was happening during the 'verifying local data' or whatever that message is.

Re: Patch for servers out on the 5th
I was hoping that it referred to the initial lag/choppiness some of us get when we first load up the map.

THey said, "on the fly during gameplay," so I think that screen will still take a long time for ya

Re: Patch for servers out on the 5th
I really hope so...it most certainly doesn't take my comp more than 5 seconds to do VCD load in single player or when I'm hosting my own server...not a client side deal.
