    Q. about commander and VOIP

I was wondering.. how exactly do the voice comms for leadership on the VOIP work? Meaning, if I am an SL and hit V, the commander can hear me, but can the other SL's hear me (any way for me to communicate directly to another SL?).

When the commander hits V to reply, does he talk to all SL's? If not, how does the game know which SL to talk to? (is it automatic to reply to the person that spoke to the commander).

Any way for the commander to talk to all the SL'S?

    Thanks

Re: Q. about commander and VOIP

I have not played CO, so I am a little fuzzy on there end, but know the SL position well.

When the SL talks to the CO, only the CO hears them. A name of who is talking appears, but does not mention the squad that person leads (so it is a good idea to announce it).

The CO can address all SLs (by default i believe), so should also specify the squad he is talking to by naming them. However I believe there is also an option to talk to just one squad / a couple of squads by clicking on them in some fashion, although I am unsure of the mechanics of it. I expect a CO player will reply with a more specific answer soon enough

    hope that helped!

The CO talks to all SL's at once unless he chooses to mute different squads. I find in the heat of battle that takes too much time and generally just keep the line open to all SL's and tell them who I'm talking to. When an SL talks to you the VoIP icon changes colour next to his squad, but it's easy to miss. Last time I played as CO I asked SL's to announce which squad they were each time they spoke and that worked really well.

Atm there's no way for SL's to talk to other SL's, they just have to relay messages through their CO.

I'd Love to see a SL to SL channel added to the VOIP for Joint Squad ops. Also it would be cool for the commander to be able to "eavesdrop" on a specific squad's communications. It seems to me that would help him/her get a feel for how an assault is going. I have played commander a couple of times now and enjoy it quite a bit, but it feels like your flying blind half the time, not truly knowing how tough the resistance is. Fog of war is cool and all, but the commander mostly is responsible for hitting 4 buttons as fast as they reset. the key is useing them in the right places. As it stands now the commanders intel is based mostly on the scan and UAV buttons, I'd love to see more communication between the commander and the SL's. Knowledge is power.

I believe the Commander can talk specificly to the squad he has selected by pressing B instead of V. That way the rest of us SLs don't need to listen to half a conversation.

I've rebound my keys. What function does "B" map to by default?
