Realism Mod?
If this game ever has a realism type MOD will TG servers have it?
i love this game so much but some of the things that bother me are the unbeliavably inaccurate guns, and the amount of bullets it takes to stop a human being!
i usually only play Infantry so i dont know too much about tanks ect, other than the M1A1 shouldnt get killed by a middle eastern T72 (or whatever it is)

Re: Realism Mod?
If it does, I'll likely stop playing. Making the infantry even more vulnerable than they currently are doesn't sound like fun to me at all. Nor does any more of a descrepancy between the sides vehicles for that matter. That's just my opinion though. If I want to be one-hit, headshotted all game long, I'll go play CS.

Re: Realism Mod?
i personally would love a realism mod. the only thing i think that would need to be a little unrealistic is keeping the vehicles closer than they would be (i don't think an m1a2 has ever been disabled in the field which wouldn't make for fun gameplay).

Re: Realism Mod?
I would applaud a realism mod, but I'm fairly certain that it would be bad for the BF2 community here as a whole.
When Joint Operations Realism started, there was a collective "Yes!!!" hoping that outstanding issues with the game were resolved (many of them were) but it also sucked some of the life out of the game.
Maybe if we take the private server and make that a realism mod, for the hardcore.

Re: Realism Mod?
I'd like a realism mod, but I can see the downside.

Re: Realism Mod?
I would love a realism mod. Part of that mod would have to be a reduction in the number of heavy vehicles, at least my opinion.
Other things like a realistic squad composition would be nice as well.

Re: Realism Mod?
I would love a realism mod but then again i rather have Opflash 2.
I think it would hurt the Chinese alot but I am no expert on Chinese military hardware. The MEC is very well equipt. Too good to be honest better then the US in some cases.

Re: Realism Mod?
One of the things I would want is realistic damage from the APC gun. I can unload 30-40 direct hits to an attack chopper only to have it circle around, barely smoking. They should tear a chopper up, and a hit to the cockpit should instantly down it.

Re: Realism Mod?
i think if nothing else i would love a mod that changed the following things to make combat a little more realistic, and imho more exciting as well.
a. make infantry rifles do more damage & have better accuracy. sometimes it seems as if all our soldiers are untrained thugs trying out their rifles for the first time, c'mon these are supposed to be crack shot trained soldiers who can hit targets up to 200m away (at least when prone).
b. make explosion radii bigger. how many times have you blasted an easy target within 10ft with a grenade/tank round/missle and seen them get up and run away.
c. helicopters have way too much armor...one tank round to any helicopter would reduce it to a few shreds of metal dispersed over a pretty wide area.
d. planes need to have better lock-on...its pretty ridiculous to only be able to lock from a few hundred meters when you're travelling at speeds over 1000 km/h. not to mention modern warplanes can lock onto targets from miles away.
e. snipers should have 5x, 10x zoom with scope drift. maybe no scope drift for the standard 2x zoom where its hard enough to get solid shots, but have severe scope drift for the higher zooms that would become less and less severe the longer one remained prone, to simulate the effects of controlled breathing on accuracy. this would let them become more of a long range threat but not so much that it would unbalance the game as they would have to remain stationary for a long time in order to have effective accuracy, like snipers in real life.

Re: Realism Mod?
if a bullet hit the cockpit why would it make it crash? especially when there is bullet proof glass and the bullet might completely miss the pilot....

Re: Realism Mod?
Well, it's a 25mm eplosive shell, not just a bullet (atleast I think it is...). And I'm pretty sure, one of those would absolutely tear the cockpit up, bulletproof glass or not.

Re: Realism Mod?
I'd settle for a mod that just eliminated pogo-sticking and base-jumping infantry.

7. Criticism: [FDB]Raub, MEC FDB squad leader. For doing almost nothing constructive with your squad. I know, I joined it. You played as sniper, and never gave your squad orders or objectives or led them in almost any way. Go do that on the pubs, pls.

Re: Realism Mod?
I think I would support all of these except 'A.' Reason being, I don't think we are all actually supposed to be crack shots, and I like the way infantry combat works right now. (I think it's much better than allot of the ridiculous vehicle stuff.) I would support a little range boost, however. (But definitely not damage.)
