One thing I'd like to mention to those of you who push the button at the detriment of your life is that I think the C4 you place on vehicles is additive to any other sort of fire on that vehicle (e.g. it will detonate if a tank/rocket round hit it) when you are dead or alive.

I think you can lose points for damaging a team vehicle.
Never before in the field of human conflict was so little owed to so few that weighed and drank so much.

Re: Rammers: Their Shadow on the Land

I've rammed a helo before from in a jet. It wasn't intentional tho, it was due to a small jump in the gfx, which made my turn just a little too late. I was ashamed of the result, as it was unfair on us both. So I hopped on to the typing text and apologized. He didn't reply, but I hope he saw it and wasn't too bummed - it was a genuine mistake, but I guess it's always difficult to read into the sincerity of someone who has just done that to you.

As a regular SpecOps player I can also confirm that you try and time the blast radius as fine as possible to get out alive. Sometimes it doesn't go right tho, and I die. But again my intention is not to suicide. As a regular SL SpecOps I know the value of staying alive for the team (to the point that runs with a high risk factor such as that are very rare, and tend to be against vehicles that are just dawdling about facing away from me for some time).

I think the ramming thing overall needs to be sorted. I was a passenger in a chinese transport helo that crashed into a black hawk, destroying both vehicles. I got 4 kills and 5 teamkills... nice.

Occasionally, and only in support score. But it never stops you, or anyone else from doing it, does it? It's like saying if you commit a federal crime, you get slapped on the wrist as a penalty.

I wouldn't call it a penalty if it never works.

But PLEASE, let's make that another thread if you want to pursue it, because that would REALLY be hijacking this one.

    Meanwhile, about the ramming.

Last night on Zatar Wetlands, there was a group who had a member who I personally saw (and identified as the same guy) ram one of our vehicles with a helo over and over - I'd say about 6 times.

All other discussion in this thread aside, THAT behavior is just un-TG.

Yes I saw that also. Not only would he ram, he had c4 attached to the helo which was detonated by another clan member just before impact. This same group also repeatedly rammed enemy choppers on other maps as well. Ramming the BH has become the most popular, if not unskilled and lame, method if countering the BH nowadays.

I can't really blame the people who ram the BHs. Due to engineers, BHs cannot be taken down by normal means. They've become overpowered and this is how some people are dealing with it. I don't do it myself. But I'm not going to tell them to stop, either, because I know that the BH really isn't fair to the overall gameplay of the server.

I won't respond to unbalances with non-TG behavior. I'd rather lose and say, "Well, it was the BH, you know?"

Who's to say using a BH in that manner is non-TG behavior as well? It can ruin the fun of gameplay, can't it? Primarily on Mashtuur where no air cover exists. I really don't have an issue with a BH on any other map.

Good point - I won't do that, either.
