Songhua needs to go. I can't stand that map on either side.

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
The only map I really dislike right now is Clean Sweep, which is why I moved it to the end of the rotation.

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
The only map I dislike is Kubra Dam. Never had a good game on that map: it's either death by air, or by sniper.
Running armor all over the map doesn't sound like a strategy to me either.

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
I agree with Kubra Dam, its the only map that I "cringe" when I see it loading up.
Its cool and all, but way too much walking only to die instantly and try agian. Also, because the flags seem so far apart, all of the matches tend to just be leap froggin from flag to flag, many times back and forth between the same 2.

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
I dislike that map with all the fog, it's annoying when I'm in a jeep, and can't see when the shallow water, turns into jeep-exploding water
. Often bored on that map. I can't think of any good key areas where the fighting is fun. Even the maps previously mentioned have some key areas that make it somewhat enjoyable. The fog kills it for me.
However, I am getting anew video card today, so maybe I'll love the fog with better image quality/frame rates... *shrug*|TG|Syn - [defense] :row__572:

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
Since I'm not a jeep jockey, I have yet to experience this. The fog makes it interesting though...for snipers, such as myself, it presents a unique challenge-the map is definitely more close range.

This is probably due to the servers continuously crashing. DICE's code is still unstable and is causing the servers to crash. So you'll mainly see the first maps on the cycle and not the end ones.

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
Dislike alot:
FuShe Pass 64 & 32
Dislike a little:
Songhua Stalemate 64 & 32
Clean Sweep 64
Zatar Wetlands 64
Like:
Mashtuur City
(except the NW and SE should be UCB's)
Kubra Dam
Dragon Valley (32 moreso than 64)
Dalian Plant
LOVE:
Sharqi Peninsula
Strike at Karkand
The thing for me that makes some of these maps painful is that we play them for so long. If we could lower the length of time we spend playing them, it would help.

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
Shonghua Stalemate, fog is a bitch. As for the rest I don't care.
When I get home people'll ask me, "Hey, why do ya do it man? Why? Just some war junkie?" Ya know what I'll say? I won't say a goddamn word. Why? They won't understand. They won't understand why we do it. They won't understand that it's about the men next to you, and that's it. That's all it is.

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
I used to dislike alot of maps, but don't anymore since I learned how the ticket system really works.
Remember flag capping is not really the way to win games. Teams lose a ticket every time someone respawns. So, the way to enjoy maps like swamp stalemate, operation cleansweep and kubra dam is to set up a nice defensive position.
In the swamp, typically the central flags change hands many times. A good squad can have alot of fun camping out there. also, I love being the engineer here. Plenty of targets for mines, and the fog makes you immune to snipers, so you can actually stand next to your mines and warn friendly vehicles off them!
In Kubra, try holding onto the dam base flag (the one that's right near the us base and starts the game neutral), or any northwest flag. Holding the dam base flag gives you lots of cover from aircraft and snipers, and makes for some really intense short ranged firefights, as you can only cap the flag from a few feet away from it. Plus it's fun to drop grenades down the ladder hole at people trying to climb it.
In operation cleansweep, just try holding a position and taking out anything that moves. I just like it cause it reminds me of Morrowind

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
I think, in all fairness each map is supposed to provide a unique, different style of play. I think the distaste for certain maps comes down to the fact that most people recycle the same tactics, map after map, expecting them to work.
Me, I think that Dam map is great for vehicle combat. I think that's the reason why the flags are so far apart, and the terrain isn't infantry-friendly. It's designed to be vehicle-intensive with columns of armor. But we, as players, want to play in our tried-and-true comfort zones instead of adapting to the various senarios DICE has provided.
Whats annoying too, is a Commander sending troops from one end of the map to the other. This is easy on Oman, but that foggy map is annoying as hell - the terrain doesn't grant you this sort of flexibility. Once the in-game decision makers realize there's more to just attacking/defending flag points (like choke points between flags, bridges, etc...) I believe the true entertaining potential of these lesser-liked maps can be realized.|TG|Syn - [defense] :row__572:

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
To be honest, I really enjoy all of the maps. I think each offers a unique piece to the strategy of the overall map and the COs, SLs & grunts need to learn how to attack / defend on each one.
There are a couple 64 player maps that require all CPs for ticket bleed which is unreal, especially when there are 10 CPs. That I think could be fixed by using the 32 player map.

Kubra Dam is another map with a great air war - with an important balance in that the MEC can have their air force taken away. It gives the whole map a very strategic focus on the airstrip CP.
Well... someone is doing all the killing then. From his perspective, it's a fun map!

Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
VERY well said! Your experience of the map is largely related to your expectations. Expecting Kubra Dam to give you the same gameplay experience and allow you the same tactics as Karkand is ... well .... your mistake.
