Re: Maps we'd like removed from Rotation
The only one that I'd like TEMPORARILY gone is Kubra Damn. I've found TG style play the most absent from this map. My best guess as to why is below. After the community as a whole and TG BF2 community matures I think it will be a good map to have. So my $0.02 is to take it away for a couple months. Heres why:
1) The odd topography of the map makes for difficult coordination. Basically, unless your SL and CO know the map well AND keep a tight unit, people end up all over the place.
2) I find snipers frustrating and annoying. My own pet issue, I know. Still, this map just oozes sniping options. This doesn't help with #1.
So after a bit of familiarity and maturity, the odd topography and maturity should make it a really fun map. And my therapist says I'll get over the sniping thing eventually.
Cheers,

I would enjoy a server that is primarily geared towards infantry.

Wow. Active thread in the past 24 hours...
I gotta say I groan every time Kubra Dam comes up. Though I'm finding fun locations to play on it, I'd still rather play any other map.
There are a couple more that bug me with the overall size factor, but I LOVE the urban maps. So many great fights there, and it's great to lead an assault or defense squad on those maps.Beatnik

I cannot stand Kubra Dam
Is it just me, or Kubra Dam simply isn't a fun map? It feels way too large even at 32 player size, and the ways to reach flags feel like they are very restricted. I tried to get used to this map but each time the server hits it, I feel an urge to leave...
I wonder if others feel the same, or if it's a popular map?
Personally, I sure could do without it...
Thanks for listening to my little rant.

Yes, map generally sucks.
It's even annoying when your in the attack helo, as it generally takes a pretty long flight to get to the fight.

Liked it for 30 seconds, hated it for 30 days. I like it again now that I know some of its secrets...

Re: I cannot stand Kubra Dam
I like it, but it does take DAYS to walk across that map and every time I play some n00b is running off with the vehicle (him being the only one in the vehicle).

Re: I cannot stand Kubra Dam
I hate that map. Its layout only magnifies the effect of overpowered air assets. Actually I'm starting to dislike all maps that have jets/helitanks, maybe since as infantry you have virtually no way to defend your self from them (maybe since Anti-air is a waste of space).

Re: I cannot stand Kubra Dam
Usually if the map starts right I noticed TG members would ask just to fight over the neutral flag or the bridge so the match doesnt lats as long.I usually dont like playing it but last night was alot of fun. Sure it was alot of whack a mole type of Flag Caps but sometimes the road over to enemy territory turns how to be alot of fun sometimes.

Re: I cannot stand Kubra Dam
I very much enjoy Kubra dam, I don't have nearly as big a problem finding a ride on it as I do Zatar wetlands. The structure and resources of the map just lends itself very well to slower more deliberate movements imho.

Re: I cannot stand Kubra Dam
I usually just try to stay and defend the southern airfield. That makes the map quite fun. Defense is good......

Re: I cannot stand Kubra Dam
The problem with Kubra is mobility, it is a very big map and some of the flags are deceptively far due to limited access routes. I've had a lot of fun on it, but you have to be very disciplined with transportation, always keep vehicles nearby and know the routes. There's a lot of ways around this map, but there's also a lot of dead ends and roads that go to weird places. Knowing which is which saves a lot of time. I think this is one map where a heli-evac squad would work well.
I think you are right about it being the slowest paced map.
