TG Members and Allogations
I'm not the best squad leader, I'll admit. I can command an ant hill in a snow storm, but I can't lead a squad for crap.
That, in excess, is no reason to disobey or ignore my orders or your responsibilities.
Our rules, in TG, state that players WILL follow orders from their squad leaders, and squad leaders WILL follow orders from their commanders.
Now, I can understand new people to TG being disrespectful towards their SL, but when I see TG members and TG server regulars blatantly disobeying orders and ignoring their battlefield responsibilities it pisses me off.
I'm not naming any names, but I am telling you that I've been a member of TG for a while, and being a member of the CS division of TG has taught me a lot about the community.
On our servers, CS side, we WOULD not tolerate this activity, especially from a TG member.
Remember, EVERYONE, if you do NOT follow SERVER RULES, you get the boot. TG or not.
I'm going to start sitting on TS and reporting people for these actions and more. This includes, not following orders, excessive TK's, disruption to everyone's game, etc.
I'd advise the ones who I am speaking to to straighten up and learn to play TG style, or find a new server.

Re: TG Members and Allogations
As a SL, keep in mind you can remove ANYONE from the squad that is not following orders.
Good call on idling on the TS servers. We encourage that.

I think most of the people on the boards, registered and lurkers hold to the rules and SOP. I'm fairly certain that you're preaching to the chior bud.
Remember SLs, if your commander gives you an order you disagree with you can take it up with him/her. A couple of times I had a commander who would have us attack a flag, and when complete he would reassign us to attack the next one. It was solved with a simple, "Squad 5 requesting permission to defend here sir, it's pretty hot."

Re: TG Members and Allogations
I joined your squad last night mom and thought you did a great job as SL....
I was only in your squad for 1 map then went to bed...I can't remember which one... I know we kicked some butt defending one flag though!
Anyways good job

Re: TG Members and Allogations
The SLs need to keep their squad together.... the CO needs to keep the SLs moving towards the same strategy. Any lack of adherance to the server rules need to be reported to an admin. Teamspeak preferred, PM also acceptable.

Re: TG Members and Allogations
One thing I should start reporting are people who are idle on the server. They get on, die, and just sit around for sometimes up to an entire map on a squad (locked) by themselves not to lose a spot. Not only is that squad a pain in the arse for the CO, who might not notice it's not moving until later on, it's one less good player that can join the server for a long time. Ok if you have to go do something like say hi to the visitors go and run back, but if you have to stay away for more than like 3 minutes just please leave and don't disrupt the game!

Re: TG Members and Allogations
Idle players are a huge problem, particularly when they are SLs. The map will change, and they'll go get something to eat, meanwhile there is a whole squad who is not commandable. We'll see if Poker can work on this as well.

Re: TG Members and Allogations
Isn't it allegations?
Why not make AFKs a bootable offense? Just ask in TS if someone is AFK, and if they are, buh-bye. I routinely kick people who do this on CS:S #1.
AFKs take a slot from someone else that wants to play the game, and are detrimental to the team.

Hey...it can work. Ask the guy who did it last night. Said his team followed him to his death. I forget which thread, though.

No. Unless they really want to. Might be fun.
The appropriate response is to request new orders...if you really can't stand the SL, change squads.

Re: TG Members and Allogations
I don't mind SLs not following orders as long as they tell me a GOOD reason. They have a better handle, sometimes I will tell them firmly they need to follow orders for the overal picture.

Re: TG Members and Allogations
Just a Side note here.. I join SQUADS based on Folks with "TG" in their name... Knowing that that means we have folks that play with the ideals set forth in the TG specs... When I get into a squad with a TG'er that decides he/she is better off Lone wolfing it or grabbing a helo while the ground grunts get smacked about I get a little bit Miffed... I appreciate the fact that the fine folks at TG allow folks to USE the TG in thier name...but that was with a stipulation that they play like they deserve it...
If you want to Rambo it fine, Just don't represent the TG... It wastes my time...
Rock on.

Re: TG Members and Allogations
Well, I know there are instances when the squads that I want to join in are full and, for lack of a better term, I'll do the HIGHLY scientific Eenie, Meanie, Miny, Moe technique and jump in a random squad.

Sometimes I get lucky and other times I don't. When I'm not, I'll try and encourage some teamplay but if I'm ignored....well then I bide my time until I decide to join/form a new squad or a spot opens up in a Squad I want to be in.
If the squad as a whole isn't doing much, especially BECAUSE of the SL then I'm not going to hold individual team members to a standard because, in that case, the standard doesn't apply.
Especially when I'm not in the mood to be an SL myself. I know I've seen NUMEROUS TG members do this....if they didn't, you wouldn't see so much Squad jumping between games and even within games when slots open up in other Squads.
The only time I've held a |TG| person accountable for my play experience is when that person is the SL or out of a whole squad, that one person isn't getting with the program. It's been VERY rare indeed, but it has happened. It's all in the Reflexes.
