I posted this in the member's only section, then realized that it would be better suited for the entire
BF2 community (including the non-supporting members). So here it is.

So I've been doing a little bit of recon on the
BF2 expansion do out this fall, and came across a video interview on Gamespot.com with one of the devs. After watching it, I have to say that I'm a little bit concerned about the direction it might be taking the game. Read on (if interested)...
the Battlefield franchise thus far owes its success in large part (in my opinion) to the diversity of vehicles, soldiers, and strategies it brings to the table. The Special Forces expansion, by comparison, seems to be focusing on ground-based "elite" squad combat. While this sort of thing is definitely cool (America's Army, the Rainbow Six/Ghost Recon series), it's not really what BF is about. I'm a bit worried that there will be a significant lack of emphasis on the vehicular and ariel game, which would make this expansion little more than a re-hash of the Tom Clancy games. Don't get me wrong though: there's nothing wrong with those types of games (I own all of them). I'm just having a difficult time seeing how this style is going to fit into the existing BF style of play, without changing the dynamics significantly.
Is anyone else concerned about this? Or am I just being stupid?
