gp.info for Reserved Slot Registration

Has anyone else had the issue where their gp.info in the root BF2 folder is pretty much empty?

Mine has a 2 in it and that is all. The only thing I can figure out is that it is refering back to the gp.info in my GameSpy Aracade folder.

BF2 Folder: gp.info

2

Gamespy Arcade Folder: gp.info

2

Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong, or should it be refering to my gamespy id?

According to: http://bf2.fun-o-matic.org/index.php/Player_Identity

"Profile ID is a GameSpy (http://www.gamespy.net/) ID number that is unique to a specific BF2 player login; no matter what computer, no matter what CD key, no matter what server that player uses, if they login with the same name and password, they will be assigned the same Profile ID. Profile ID can therefore be used to uniquely identify particular players, and is the basis for the EA ranking system: player statistics are tracked by Profile ID.

The profile ID is also stored between the square brackets on the 2nd line of the "gp.info" file which resides in the root of the BF2 client folder. Note that the file is cumulative so it may contain the info for all the players that have been using the client computer; if so then each player info block is separated by a blank line."

Any ideas?

Jaymind, I am in the same case. My gp.info contains only the character "2", and that's it. I believe it's because my handle "ABPositive" was created through gamespy, not through the BF2 interface. I am still looking for my ID, I could not find it in the gamespy folder. Any1?

Re: gp.info for Reserved Slot Registration

I used the BF2 Easy Key Hasher.

http://members.tacticalgamer.com/~wy...asher_v1.1.exe

1/ download it
2/ run it
3/ select BF2
4/ press Get Profiles
5/ select the BF2 profile for which you need the Player ID
6/ the Profile ID field has your value

Re: gp.info for Reserved Slot Registration

I ran a search and XP found it after three trys. Opened it with note pad and got the info. Seems I had two gp.info on my computer and found the one I needed.

That program worked, as did the BF2 Tracker site. Thanks for the help!

Re: gp.info for Reserved Slot Registration

You cannot change your name with this. It's for the pending slots reservation system.
