Re: Battlefield 2 Modular Sig Design [56k Warning]

This one is cool, how come it's not been added to the "specialist" tags in the second post in this thread?

Re: Battlefield 2 Modular Sig Design [56k Warning]
After hours of recording demos, taking screenshots (in 1600x1200 with EVERYTHING ON HIGH), fighting with that font (which I can't get to show up well in paint shop pro or Word), cropping, selecting, and tweaking screenshots, I am FINALLY finished (with my first set
).
I hope this meets with your approval. Please let me know what parts of it are amateurish, and what parts you like.
Just check the sig. (for now)
The new pieces are the main banner, the squad leader, and the VMFA-531 FastMover specialist imgs."You live and learn. Or you don't live long."

Re: Battlefield 2 Modular Sig Design [56k Warning]
Thanks, Xink. I'm having a lot of trouble getting my lettering to be as clear as yours.
Also, you do some really cool background/texturing effects - with some lines going this way and that. Other than adding in some HUD 'noise' I don't really know how to get that effect.
Plus you did that sweet ripple effect to the "TacticalGamer" text of the helo banner!
I should try something like that.
Hardware:
AMD64 3500
GeForce 6800GT
1 Gig RAM
It actually runs smooth most of the time, except occasional hiccups - but that's just with ONLY ME on my server.
Here's my next banner "Death from above":

And here's the stuff currently in my sig:

Re: Battlefield 2 Modular Sig Design [56k Warning]
Why do all of the banners for TG have helos or airplanes in them? Come on guys, help out us ground pounders!

Re: Battlefield 2 Modular Sig Design [56k Warning]
I dunno why Xink made so many like that.
I used jets because I deliberately wanted to. And I didn't want to re-use stock EA-published pics. I wanted to make my own screenshots.
I'm not likely to make a ground-banner.
Sorry.

Re: Battlefield 2 Modular Sig Design [56k Warning]
Tips on screenshots:
- Create a new local acount called "..." Because you CANNOT remove the player name, this will make it easiest to clear it out of the picture. This account will have normal graphics settings.
- Create another local account by some other name. This account will have maxed out graphic settings.
- Log in with "..." and bring down the console.
- Remove the hud - renderer.drawHud 0 (zero)
- Start recording - demo.recordDemo "demoname" (without quotes)
- Perform whatever actions you want to perform.
- Stop recording - demo.stopRecording
- log out of "..."
- alt-tab, and copy <BF2dir>\mods\bf2\Demos\demoname.bf2demo to "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\demos"
- Back in the game, log in to the other account (with max graphics settings).
- Go to the Community tab, and your demo will be listed there. Play it and take screenshots.
Notes:
- You can't get the first-person view of the player in the demo. If you want 1st-person screenshots, you have to do them AS you do them.
- Screenshots will not be taken in-game if you have renderer.drawHud set to 0. You CAN take them while watching a demo with the Hud off, but not while you're in-game."You live and learn. Or you don't live long."
