    In-game chat language

Quick little Public Service Announcement for all TG players, which may (hopefully) or may not be obvious to most of you.

Watch your language in the in-game chat. Cursing in-game is NOT tolerated.

I say this because it seems like it's on the rise lately (although it's still a rare occurence), and some people act like they don't understand when they get kicked. There aren't many rules here, and all the rules that we have here are aimed at providing a mature gaming environment.

There are frustrating moments in every game. But if you take the time to type out your frustrations in chat using unacceptable language, expect action from the admins.

So now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Apparently, this doesn't apply to VoIP as well. Ahem *Beatnik*

Another thing I have seen lately is people try to get around the curse filter by using spaces, periods, and numbers. This is not a smart idea either.

I'm really bad at that on VOIP, sorry everyone.

Over here its like 1am to 5am when I get on to play so all the kids are in bed, after a few drinks it's easy to forget that its still evening in the USA so youngsters will still be up. Even then it could offend adults so thats no excuse.

I'll try to clean up my dirty mouth. Might need more than mouthwash though.

Yah, I've made the mistake of cussing at some people for breaking the rules and I was banned for a few days. It was a stupid mistake and if you're like me (I don't even think about typing) just try and be careful.

I think it's kind of silly to have a rule against typing it, but screaming it into the microphone is perfectly okay. At least with typing you can ignore it. You can't play BF2 without listening to the sound, though.

The rule exists in both places, Tycho. It's merely that the text chat leaves a more impressive trail for admins to follow.

Additionally, most are more willing to forgive a slip of the tongue than a slip of moving-your-entire-hand-around-the-keyboard-to-quite-deliberately-type-something.

    Re: In-game chat language

I have to admit my Missouri Mouth has run on squad chat occasionally... but I never had heard a comment about it, others were doing it, and there seemed to be no kids or devout Christians in the squad at the time... I never drop F bombs, but the occasional sh1t or SOB slips out.

I do agree typing it up on screen is much worse... and its real bad when ppl are threatening one another, what a turn off.

Anyway, I'm all for clean on-screen...

I remember I was explaining mouse-look views in jets to some guy, and used the word "cockpit" on two different occurrences...and was promptly kicked for bad language
