Thats right, according to the folks in that link theres SUPPOSED to be a patch coming out the same day as Special Forces expansion(Ill believe it when I see it)
also,sorry viper, no jets in the expansion
also, wow those people are very angry, maybe if they played on TG servers there BF2 experience would be much better

No new jets or no jets at all? I saw some F-18's in some screenshots on Gamespot so that would suggest that there are jets in the expansion.

Yep, no jets. The hornets you saw are part of a carrier map, and are static objects.

something to keep in mind is all the exansions of bf1942 sucked, what kept people around was free mods like DC/FH, and to some extent POE

I liked Road to Rome. Never played Secret Weapons though.

EA has always officially announced any patches for "fixes", This one has only , as far as I know been mentioned real brief as a patch needed to add the Expansion pack.
But hopefully it will be a christmas present? lol from EA??!
Yeah right- just as they pass the savings over to their customers when they charge THE SAME RATE for downloading the Expansion as it cost in the store (with box , cd etc)
They are saving money when they dont have to make the cd, package it up , ship it and sell it cheaper (to stores like gamestop etc).
The people downloading the expansion should get some sort of discount, dont you think?..

The brick and mortar stores would throw a hissy fit if EA charged less to DL than buy in-store.

The brick and mortar stores can whine all they want. EA is the biggest publisher. It can do whatever it wants as long as it doesn't anger Wal-Mart.

Yes, I do not think that stores has anything to gain on being angry at EA.
What are they supposed to do? - stop selling EA titles?
No more Madden etc??
I can see a bankrupcy filing coming full steam ahead ..lol

Just because your business partner won't terminate you for an action doesn't mean you should do it.

Here's some additional info I found:
Those with SF will be able to gain access to special unlocks ("tier 2 unlocks") for use on vanilla BF2 servers and maps.
The unlocks are:
Assault: Flash Bang
Medic: G36E
Sniper: None
Anti-Tank: None
Special Forces: SCAR-L
Engineer: MP7
Support: MG36
It'd be awesome to get these on the private server.
