What teamkilled me?
Here's a little tidbit that I found a while ago:
You can set in your localization files to see what your teammate teamkilled you with. To do this, open C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Localization\English\English.utxt with notepad(this is the default directory, you may have to change it). Search(Ctrl-F) for the string HUD_HUD_KILLEDBY_TEAMKILLS. It should read, if you have the standard:
Note: The boxes should be surrounding the string, they just won't show up in the post.
HUD_HUD_KILLEDBY_TEAMKILLS §0#PLAYERNAME1# [§1#WEAPON#§0] #PLAYERNAME2#
Now you can change it, by copying the key for what weapon killed you - §1#WEAPON#§0 - to something more like this:
HUD_HUD_KILLEDBY_TEAMKILLS §0#PLAYERNAME1# [§1Teamkills§0 - §1#WEAPON#§0] #PLAYERNAME2#
You can mess around with the format of it some more, just be sure to save when you are done. This does not interfere with Punkbuster.|TG| aschmack

Re: What teamkilled me?
That is really good stuff. I don't usually care too much what I was TK'd with, but just knowing you can change those messages is cool.

Re: What teamkilled me?
Would this:
HUD_HUD_KILLEDBY_TEAMKILLS §1The traitor§0 §0#PLAYERNAME1# [§1Teamkilled§0] #PLAYERNAME2# with a §1#WEAPON#§0
make this:
The traitor |TG|icky Teamkilled |TG|perry with a claymore
? Not that icky has ever taken out half a squad with a claymore or anything.. just wondering

No, it would be:
HUD_HUD_KILLEDBY_TEAMKILLS The Traitor §0#PLAYERNAME1# [§1Teamkills§0] #PLAYERNAME2# with a §1#WEAPON#§0|TG| aschmack

Re: What teamkilled me?
Can you add color? I find it very frustrating to find my own name in the kill list (on either side), and it would be great if I could light up those lines in red.

Possibly using a new exploit that I will not mention here. You will have to find it yourself.

Re: What teamkilled me?
Try just copying the WEAPON thing from the line above the teamkills and add the formatting yourself. Something may have been messed up due to the posting.

Re: What teamkilled me?
Any idea what encoding that file is in? My editor guesses that it's UTF-16LE.

Re: What teamkilled me?
Your thread inspired me to look into it more and write a tutorial. Thank you!
