why join an inhouse squad?
hey guys - so what's the deal w/ the in-house squads? other than familiarity w/ team-mates, what's to be gained from being in one? you guys have your own SOPs and protocols and all that? the stuff ABRA was talking about for the mini-camp... that type of stuff all employed by you?
just curious...

I haven't been in a clan for a while so it would be nice to get stuck into that sort of thing again.

Re: why join an inhouse squad?
Well 7th (the part I am in) is the biggest in house squad with some great members like Beatnik(one of the first and best SLs), Santa(did you see his ribbons? he is a machine) , Xink(One of the best SMs.), Bommando (scrim scheduling machine, and one of the first and best COs)
We mainly concentrate on ground pounding big squads i.e. 6man... Our members know how to operate in a situation of 6 people squad very well.
And there are other squads, squads that concentrate on Armor, Infantry combination like the MIP1st. Squads that do jet flying only, Squads that are crazy and concentrate on fast attack, back flag turning flankers. Or a squad that does the dirty work like keeping enemy assets down etc...
A full list will be shown to you soon by somebody less lazy than myself.

Fun, fun and more fun. But do not be selfish. Provide some fun and you will receive some fun.

Because they're much more sanitary than the outhouse squads.

Re: why join an inhouse squad?
I would say that being in one of the inhouse teams gives me a sense of trust:
It's about being able to trust your teammates to assist you in getting the job done.
You don't need alot of explanation: we have a common vocabulary, we have drilled together and know our strengths and weaknesses. Just a quick set of words, and the play is in motion.
That said, the inhouse squads have pretty much elevated the level of gameplay around here, and you will see that the bulk of the scrimmage slots are taken by team members. In the past scrims, for one reason or another, the 42nd has had an open slot, and we have had members of the 2nd and the 7th fill in and fit right in.
Regardless of our team affiliations, we are Tactical Gamers, and that comes first. We all have different tactics and styles, but we work together extremely well in an organized conflict.
That's what sets us appart from any other community or clan.

Some squads, such as the 42nd Recon, transcend any particular game (like BF2). We play other games together as well.

Re: why join an inhouse squad?
You get access to the executive bathroom, improved lighting conditions, and if your a good worker you might bet promoted to the Keeper of Bommandos Ego (Currently we have a highly trained team but it might not be enough )
Although I think it might have gotten bruised in special forces the other night.
In all seriousness, it gives you a stable player base. All to often I see [TG] tagged people who seem to just grab the tag without knowing what it stands for. I know if I see a squad being lead by a 7th or a squad with a 7th I am at least in a TG squad.
Its all about cohesiveness.

Re: why join an inhouse squad?
dudes... gotta mention...
Some of these TG in house squads require the wannabe to be a Supporting Member i.e pay subscription. Sorry if that was a bad news. But some donot.

Fun, fun and more fun. But do not be selfish. Provide some fun and you will receive some fun.

One should find out which squads are recruiting, and then ask them if one could join.

For those of us in the 2nd, we each had to edit one of Trooper's school papers, paying particular attention to grammatical errors and misspellings.
