Hey Munchkin, Have you COMPLETELY uninstalled everything related to BF2. I have had other who have had similiar problems reinstalling BF2 and it seems the process has issues with the older version of the BF2 folder that's in your documents. Have you deleted that and everything else and then reinstalled? This is not %100 sure fire fix but if you haven't done that it's worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I've tried both of these things and didn't have any success with them. I tried reinstalling and patching today and for some reason the patching process worked perfectly. However, the game now crashes to desktop halfway through the opening movies.

One thing you can try is phone EA, that way they actually have to talk to you, not just email back some pre-typed answers.

I considered that, but EA Australia:
1)Probably won't give me any useful information
2) Charge $2.48 per minute for technical support

Time to reinstall windows on your computer, and time to get rid of EVE and RO! Cant wait to hear the "nooooooooooo" and " o GoooD" in aussie accent again.

You probably saw this, but on my computer it installed parts of BF2 on both my main D drive, and some on my smaller C drive. Maybe you arent really deleting everything?
