The Tactical Minicamp invites you to an OPEN LIVE FIRE SCRIMMAGE
Monday December 19th, Scrim Server IP: 70.86.115.98 Password: irene
Scrimmage at 9 pm EST
Standard minicamp session at 8 pm EST
Last week we had an introduction to TG and will be having one again for those who are interested. Also we successfully drilled most people to the point of proficiency in the two-man buddy rush. And we introduced the AFAR teamwork framework.
This week we will continue to build on those lessons with an emphasis on how you can take these abstract theoretical tactics and actually implement them with strangers on Server #1. To that end about halfway through the minicamp we will shift the practice to an open scrimmage and invite the TGers on Server #1 to join us.
You and your minicamp squad mates will be encouraged to adapt your minicamp lessons to the dynamic and chaotic conditions of an open server match. After that the squads will be integrated spreading minicamp participants to all squads where they will practice coordinating with their TG squad mates in the minicamp's tactics. This is the ultimate goal of this minicamp and is a lofty one since the minicamp tactics are often far beyond what we are accustomed to seeing on the open TG servers.
I really hope to see the Tactical Gamer community live up to its stated principles and strive beyond the running-and-gunning found elsewhere by helping these new tactical minicamp recruits see what TG gaming can be all about.
So anyone who still remembers what wearing the TG tag is about should come by for a good tactical match. As this scrimmage is being held to hone the infantry tactics already covered in the minicamp please restrict vehicle use only to transportation purposes without discharging vehicle armaments of any kind.
As always TG squads are welcome to demonstrate and run drills in their areas of expertise during Monday's minicamp or have the minicamp come to their squad practice. Also as always guest instructors are welcome to bring their own drills to lead as long as we arrange it beforehand.
Always looking for instructors and people to play the role of the enemy. If interested PM me.
Come prepared to log on to our Teamspeak server or at least have your voice-comm working.
Of the two it is better to have your in-game voice up. It really is almost a prerequisite to learning the kind of stuff we'll be teaching, although not as necessary when it comes to execution. There will be a squad named DEAF at all times for those without working Teamspeak(TS). In game voice will be used for the hearing-impaired in that squad. We had some bugs with this last week but they seem to be ironed out. TS users would do well to bind a hot key to "Volume +10%" and "Volume -10%" using the TS key-binding system so that they can easily make the necessary adjustments to hear either TS or voice-comms clearly.Xbox Live Gamertag: TG ABRA

This sounds fun!
Never had the oppurtunity to join, but this time I think I will.
Simulating real combat (or as real as possible) is very appealing.
I do not have TS but it seems like in-game VOIP should be enogh?
Is there anything that I will miss out on, not having TS?
See you Monday

Re: The Tactical Minicamp invites you to an OPEN LIVE FIRE SCRIMMAGE
We're going to look at some of the squad-level maneuvers and tactics we practiced last week, and show how they can be implemented into real game situations. This live fire scrimmage will focus on using tactics we've learnt, and not reverting back to our standard SOPs. Hopefully we'll get some of the TG regulars to play the OpFor, and instructors will supervise and give comments.

Hopefully that will be enough. I can't speak for the other instructors but I personally have a nasty habit of reverting to talking on TS only. But I've worked on some key-bindings and hopefully will be able to whisper to the entire Tactical Minicamp TS channel as well as the use ingame voice at the push of a button. So join my squad, titled DEAF and you should be able to hear what I say on TS. Unfortunately I don't think we've figured out a way for you to hear the other instructors when they talk on TS but at least this week that shouldn't be too big of a problem since I think most of the instruction will take place in squads rather than in one big group.

If you want to get to the more advanced topics I would suggest you join either Hellrazor or munchkin's squad as they thus far have covered the most advanced material.
In fact since it looks like we'll be getting the widest spectrum of players ever in terms of first-timers and minicamp alums, I think we'll divide this minicamp into sections based on past attendance. Each instructor will take a squad of equal minicamp experience. One will be introducing new players to TG and giving them the first lessons on the buddy rush. One will be refining the buddy rush for those who have attended previously but feel they want more practice on it before they learn how to use it in a real game. One will be tying it all together for the most experienced minicampers and adding new elements. Etc. Etc.
Unfortunately we will be at least one if not 2 instructors down this week. So if one of you has been on the fence about trying to instruct, I'd really appreciate it if you could step up this week. I will personally bring you up to speed on it on the events server whenever is convenient for you. Just send me a PM.Xbox Live Gamertag: TG ABRA

I'll be there for sure. Last week was awesome and a scrimmage would be most educational I'm sure.

I'll try and make the Minicamp. Scrim is at 4AM for me, so it'll be hard, but I'll try.

Once again my thanks go out to the instructors and to ABRA and all who made this possible as well, of course, as all those who attended.
