I had rebound it to my "click" button on my mousewheel as I also hated trying to hit the 9 key in a short hop. Always in hand!

BF2142's binding of the chute to the jump key in the demo messed with my head too much to actually do the same in BF2. Look ma, I'm air jumping!

I use my middle mouse button for parachute. You know the wheel, but depressed. Never have to take my hand off the mouse. I use the thumb button for switching between single fire and burst. I have the logitech G5 but wish I had the Mx 518 for the additional thumb button....

edit....I very rarely play POE2 these days and find myself playing mostly PRM...no parachutes there except for pilot....and British forces drop from the sky while playing airport.

0-INS key on the numpad works best for me. Enter and + key on the numpad works well too since they are just as big and convenient.

It wasn't totally clear in the OP, but this method allows your jump button (default: Space) to also be your parachute button.

Re: Never fat-finger the parachute button again!

I have my prone mapped to the mouse wheel, and it works great...

Sometimes, when I'm in mid air, and and about to shoot Mantis, Santa or one of those other Haxx0rZ , and I get killed by 1 or 2 bullets while they're in the middle of a roll-and-drop, I wonder if I should try depressing the fire button AND mouse wheel at the same time...but I have never had the presence of mind to actually do it yet, because I use my INDEX finger for both buttons.

Anyone know how I can remap my middle finger to bind to the mouse wheel?
(And that's how Axis hijacked an entire thread to jokes revolving around "middle finger", "mice" and "binding")
