Which army, overall, has the best guns?
Remember guys, this poll is for vanilla, standard guns for all armies. Its not about vehicles, or SF guns.
Anyway, Ive always thought the USMC weapons were superior to the opfor weapons, but was curious what others thought.
- I think the M4 is best compared to the other spec ops guns, especcialy the chinese one. Chinese one has a terrible site.
- M24 owns. Period. Screw the semi-auto sniper wanna be guns.
- M16, if used correctly, is amazing. The AKs are powerful but i just cant get enough of the 3 round burst that everyone else seems to hate. Yall are crazy.
- All the support guns suck in vanilla, but i think the USMC one is best because its a nice balance between ROF, accuracy, and power. Sounds cool too, which is most important.
- Engineer. I hardly play it, so i dunno what shotgun is the best. Someone enlighten me.
- SMGs for the AT i think is the only place where the USMC faulter. MEC SMG has a 50 round clip and its actually pretty effective, and the chinese smg has a nice sight. MP5 just sucks.
- Finally, the pistols. The mec pistol has a TERRIBLE sight (its very misleading, you have to aim a bit above where you think the sight is pointing at). The chinese pistol has a nice sight but doesnt seem to have any power. USMC pistol has the best sight and has good power.

-M16 either is a lot more accurate at range or has a better sight. With the AK I always have to do a lot of shots around my target before it hits, with the M16 it hits exactly where the tip of the iron sight is, unlike the AK.
-Semi-auto snipers are crap (mostly because of the sight, it's near impossible to get a headshot).
-Pistols aren't that much of an issue to me.
-I actually prefer the MP5 for some reason. Small clip but seems to fire faster and have better damage.
-I don't really see a difference between the AK74-U and the M4. the QBZ is alot more accurate than them but feels slightly less powerful.
-Support gun: RPK > *. Way more accurate and powerful than its counterparts.

I prefer all the USMC weapons except the mp5. The rof of the MEC & Chinese AT submachineguns seem much higher, and thus to me, more effective. I rarely use the AT submachinegun outside of close range, so that's where I'm coming from. I know some people use the mp5 at medium range, but I can't hit anything with it that way. As far as the m16, even though it's a little less powerful than the ak, I do prefer the m16's accuracy. It just seems easier to hit targets at medium to long range with the m16.

Wot he said. RPK feels 1.5x more accurate to me, and I play support a lot. SAW has a better fire rate and more ammo, so the force is in balance. The Chinese support gun is my favorite though -- accurate and high rate of fire.

When playing AT, I always put the wuss guns on semi auto. They all suck equally.
The Chinese spec ops gun looks like it should squirt jelly, and I'll +rep anyone who gets the reference.

The MEC shotgun is excellent, rapid fire. Nothing like the US one that is near to useless for me.

MEC shotgun sucks compared to USMC and Chinese shotguns, since it cant kill in one shot and you often as engineer only use your shotgun at short range. Still, I know the power of semi-automatic shotguns, DAO-12 for life baby!
As for army....
I vote MEC:
AK101 has less accuracy true, but its damage and single shot effectiveness make up for this and of course full auto fire.
Ak74U DOES more damage then the other spec ops gun (27 instead of 25) and its accuracy isnt all that much lower.
SVD is indeed pwned on many maps, but not karkand, on karkand I vote SVD, got loads of guys on the roof on the square and was easily able to shoot enemy snipers. Biggest advantage of the SVD...no reload for each shot and thus keep firing.
S12K shotgun, like said above is in single or even double shots not as effective as the USMC/Chinese shotguns, but if the enemy doesnt kill you in the first shot, you win.
The support gun of the MEC has the highest damage of all the NOT-unlock support guns and the most accuracy, sadly it has less rate of fire but I still like it.(does 35 damage where as M249 does 25)
The AT smg of the MEC is the best of the three, 45 rounds in a clip, rate of fire equal to the M249. Still gets pwned by DAO-12

MEC. The AK101 is unstoppable at medium range, their Spec Ops weapon is better imo (or i'm better with it, whichever), and the 45 round magazine of the anti-tank SMG makes it a better choice than the other armies' SMGs.

I prefer the USMC weapons. The M4 is much better than the other Spec Ops guns IMO. I can also pull off much longer shots with the M16 than the AK.

I prefer the MEC weapons, overall. Besides the SVD and AK-74SU, the MEC armoury seems to have more power and overall effectiveness. The CQB capabilities of the Assault class more than makeup for it's slight, degrading, shift in accuracy and that has helped me kill OPFOR more than the M16 ever has.
I do prefer the M-24 and M4A1 weapon systems because of the better accuracy on both.
The chinese weapons seem to be ineffective, albeit slightly, in comparison with the USMC weapons. The China vs. USMC maps tend to be more long range stand-off type of maps and the inaccuracy of the AK47 really does hamper it in that regard.
So, for me: MEC > USMC > PLA

i voted for the US weapons
honestly, i dont know why, i just feel safest with the US weapons, i always feel like i get more hits with them.
special forces gun, i have to go with the mec, i feel the shots i make with it are most solid, i have a 80% hit rate and since it does a little bit more damage its most effective for me.

i like the m-16 better i have made SO many more kills with it then the AK47. at close range i prefer the AK47, but, rarely do i encounter someone at close range with it (im usually the squad leader when i play*well used to play all the time* and i always make my support go in front, so they engage the enemy first) but all in all, i make all my shots with the m-16 at mid range with the 3 shot burst, if your lucky you can drop someone in that one burst, at long range i put it on single shot, and its just SO accurate, it makes me feel most secure.
shotguns
i gotta stick with the US shotgun, like someone said, in close quarters, if that first shot hits you win, if it doesnt, your probably already done for.
AT
this is a toss up, they all suck.
i like the MP5 at close range its rate of fire makes it pretty successful
at mid range i go with the mec
at long range, i use my pistol, eff those sub machine guns! haha.
for pistols, i dont prefer one over the other.

I agree. I don't know why, but I can pull off some insanely long range shots with the AK-47 and it is also deadly at close range. I don't like the 3-round burst on the US rifles, but I don't really know why I like 47 better than the 101 since they are almost the same gun. Originally Posted by slugslinger
