was a great game - after a few people on our team left, I ended getting 1st (*thanks to being medic*)

totally could have used a few more players though.

Good game everyone, that was a fun round. The battle for the palace was intense and about as close quarter as you can get. SAS had a great mission where we used a grappling hook to climb up to the eastern roof of the palace and then our grenadiers suppressed the Insurgents at the 3rd floor flag on the opposite side of the palace while the rest of the squad took a zip line across the courtyard and proceeded to move in and try to take the flag. We were doing our best to fully utilize all of the fun SF toys.

Insurgents should have totally taken that match though...

Yeah what happened with that? I can only view the match through BF2CC, our admin tool, which doesn't show flag status. Did the OPFOR hold almost all the flags all round and still lose? Was this because of a modification made to Server #1 that I don't have running on te Events Server?

I'm glad to hear that this league match was conducive to tactical play like Duke outlines. That was the whole purpose of the League in the first place. I'm sorry if this ticket bleed issue caused an inappropriate match result that is on your teams' records. But remember this is only pre-season and the real victory in these matches is ironning out bugs like the one that caused this issue.

To sum up we had about 12 players. The match went very smoothly and althoguh we started late, it was less late than last time.

Our next match is Tuesday at 7 pm EST at Daqing Oilfields in vanilla BF2.

To give some credit to Opfor though the SAS team had us down to one flag at the start after some rapid advancing under the cover of that darn APC, thought we had lost it right at the start. That thing was a real nightmare to deal with. If we went AT it left us open to infantry attack and vice versa. It was hard to combat and all the rounds coming through the windows caused some heavy splash damage. That zipline manouver was great and we didnt see it coming until too late, i think i was one of the poor sods on the end of the "suppressive grenades". Managed to get some revenge when i saw the zipline come across from above my head another time and the poor soul who bravely went first caught some of our own "suppressive grenade fire".

I was havng a blast in John's squad until I lost connection. Kudo's to everyone in the squad. We had some great tactic's and movements going on.

And we did it WITHOUT A CO.

There was no bleed because it is an "assault" map, like Karkand. If you hold all flags you force bleed but once USMC, or SAS in this case, takes a flag there is no more bleed.

Regardless of "bleed" or no "bleed", I had a great time, but that "darn" APC was wreaking so much havoc on us. It was driving me nuts!!! All we had were RPG's............alot of help that was! I enjoyed it though, it was a tough fight as well as a tough loss, but we did hold our own for what it is worth. Those zip line maneuvers really threw some of us for a loop. At one point I had to batten down and just waited for them to zip across and pick them off as they came. Good thing I had my mask on. Hopefully next time there will be a bigger turn out t really be able to get into the scheme of tactical/urban maneuvers. Thanks guys for the great match.....good thing it is only preseason.

Of course I do have to mention the OOPS!! on Boneheads part with the artillery drop, maybe that helped us regain some of the flags back, it jolted them into submission for a bit......LOL!!!

If it wasnt Duke updating me on the bleed conditions, I would probably make plans to hold more flags but it was totally meaningless on a small scale game like this.

Take home lesson: KNOW the bleed conditions and make your strategy accordingly.

The dynamics of the game changed a lot and getting used to the style on server 1 (64 players) and all the room for operations of a mechanized infantry platoon like us, I had some difficulty in managing my squad. It was like a rainbow 6 game.

Without the excellent teamwork, coordination and help of my squad mates (Duke, Faultline, Ransack, Fuzzy and Bubba) and a formidable Opfor (you guys knew all the corners to cover, great job), it would be a so-so night, but I had great time. Thank you guys and our coordinator ABRA !

PS: Never mess with a mechanized unit if you dont want to see that APC again [It was the excellent performance of Faultline as a suppressive fire unit in that APC]

I think your medic deserves some kudos. I clocked who was leading the squad part way through and made an effort to take you down whilst you were on the roof. I think i actually managed it a few times only to see a medic leaping onto your body and you both scarpering off.... I much enjoyed the match being the first time i had played on that map. Its good to get some SF time in. Your team were very accomplished.

    Thanks Jimmy,

That medic was Fuzzy (a 42nd member) who played with us first time last night and he did a fantastic job.
