Re: Negative Publicity
bleh. gamefaqs is a breeding ground for losers. Add the EA forums to that too -- both in console and pc games. I wouldnt advertise anything TG on a gamefaqs forum ever -- its like running into a cafeteria of freshmen and telling them there's unsupervised booze in the faculty room...

Re: Negative Publicity
I'm guilty of "sky cowing", apparently. If I'm part of a squad, flying, and I set my squad down and then see a tank or similar that will definitely take out my squad as they advance, on several occasions I have sacrificed my life. It seemed the logical thing to do - I am removing the largest threat from the enemy position, and after a period of time the squad regains an offensive member.
I wouldn't ram an enemy chopper, though. And I wouldn't use ramming in situations other than those where by ramming that tank, or apc, I am saving my squad.
Sorry if this is wrong - if so, I won't do it anymore. I wasn't aware there was so much resentment about it.

Re: Negative Publicity
I've done the same thing as mingmong, especially on Daqing. It not only eliminates heavy armor, it provides a distraction and allows your squad to advance more safely. The chopper's going to be destroyed anyway, and if it's not the squad leader flying, it can potentially save quite a few tickets that would be spent taking out the armor.

Choppers aren't generally considered to be disposable.

Re: Negative Publicity
The biggest difference is that the guy posting on gameFAQ's did it on purpose by loading the helo full of C4 beforehand, but mingmong you noticed the *insert oppisition here* during ur flight after your game responsabilities were taken care of. If you were part of the dedicated helo squad I would frown on this, but if you just dropped off your squad and was just flying distraction for them taking out the tank is a large distraction imo.

Re: Negative Publicity
Purposely ramming a vehicle into another vehicle knowing that you will die is wrong. Period.

Re: Negative Publicity
I have to admit, as much as I hate it, I too have done this. But I only do it one 1 map... Mastur City...
Ill be damned if that fat stupid chopper for the MEC isnt TOTALLY useless against that map AND the Blackhawk. So, if NOONE is using the Chopper (which is usually the case for MEC) and a Blackhawk is really wreaking havok on my teammates, Ill grab the chopper and just try to scare the BH away, even if that means smashing into it in midair... Its lame, cheap, and well... lame... but I feel like its really the only defense against the BH on that map (well until 1.2, hopefully).

...and when it does hit something it just mildly irritates them. I dont see any reason to be using this "tactic", its just going to cause resentment and ill feeling.

Re: Negative Publicity
I can't believe some of these posts by TG regulars. Suicide bombing/choppers should be considered Right Out! How is this behavior in keeping with the spirit of how we play here? Dear God....this isn't Okinawa...you aren't fighting for Imperial Japan.

If there is no rule for this we should create one. That kind of behaviour is not goot TG behaviour. Thats my five cents..

Trick to getting a kill is you staying alive, suiciding leaves you no chance of this at all.

Re: Negative Publicity
Last night one player was taking the BH, flying to a location and putting it into a dive. Before the BH would crash he would bail out. At least once he got a kill this way.
