We flew a southern route in the SeaHawk and staired in wonderment at the Phalanx-style AA site south of Maintenance (or somewhere around there). Saw FBMantis decided to occupy it for a bit as we passed through. Get any AA kills there Mantis?

Second round the attack chopper was catching on to my location. Still though if he got within view he was in trouble. The missiles are deadly enough but that gun can take out a chopper in about 5 secs.
I would be curious to hear from any pilot what it was like my shooting at them as they flew by. I never took one down with the gun(go slower!) but I would hit them now and then and I bet the tracer fire would be pretty crazy from the jets end.

Jeez i didnt know it was a freaking essex. I think most people thought it was a standard IGLA when they looked at the minimap.

On one dalian round I was in the jet squad (that was a bad idea :/ ) and I remember seeing an essex gun up by the warehouse, but I don't recall getting any trouble from them.

Just had a drive around Karkand, Its quite different now! USMC starts at suburbs (which i take it is ucb??) and opfor at construction site, there were only 2 humvees on the map and the flags have been removed from train wreck(and the tow) as well as the 2 original start points for USMC. The bridge at train wreck is also out and im not sure if it can be repaired.
Only had a quick drive round but from the layout it looks like it could mean some up close infantry battles.
Looking forward to seeing what else has changed on the other maps

The only gun which has been touched in the game is the one in the UH60 Heli, the M134. It has had a drastic reduction in damage so that it will be most useful as a transport.
I wouldn't support modifications to any of the kits used by the soldiers.Peace through fear... since 1947!

I was flying attack helo for part of that map today.. Took me forever to realize that it wasn't .50 cal fire seemingly chewing us to death in a matter of seconds.
You definitely kept us from being anything resembling effective @ north docks, although we finally said screw this, and took you out once.
That one kill made our day though.
All in all, I love the addition of the new AA. Too bad it can't be modified to have a fire angle such that it couldn't hit ground targets, because replacing the standard IGLA with these would balance the map SO much better. I can't say I like the removal of the main entrace/reactor towers chopper though - since the new AA helps so much it seems overkill.
