Yerp squad?
There has been al lot of talk of the TG yerps uniting and playing in hours that are more convenient for us.
This would be a sub squad and we will not participate in scrims. So other Europeans who are participating in other squads can join
In this thread we will discuss when we can play. Will we use voip or TS?
We must discuss this and develop a democratic |TG-yrp| squad.
If you are tired of waiting until the server fills up, join
If you want 2 experience full teamplay/euro style, join
if u wanna have some fun, just try it out.
Post ur suggestions and lets get going.

Great idea BTW - there are enough eurolanders to have a great blast !
My vote, if this counts, is for:
VOIP (I find this most effective)
Armour (obviously hehe Im a sitting duck without it quack quack)
and the rest - well we can make the rules up as each game presents itself, depending on players etc..

I'm up for it too, as long as it's run exactly the same as TG is run everywhere else. By that I mean we adapt their rules and protocols 100% mainly because I assume that's the way everyone wants to play, being here in the first place and secondly because we are wearing TG tags and therefore representing them, and I for one don't want to let them down.

We have 2 have more volunteers 2 actually have a squad 2 join so wait until we got more players on and if it works out, put the on the |TG-yrp| tag.
Yes we must follow the rules of TG! But if we are 6 players, we can play inf only for example until 1 player wants 2 play 4 real, then we must follow every single rule! Period.

All's you guys need to do is pick a time to populate the server.. not much more organization beyond that is required.
Enforcing armor/1flag/whatever other arbitrary rules you can come up with cannot be enforced on a public server. If you were to all become supporting members and met on the private server, then it would be a different story.Battlefield Admin(BF2 Rules) (BF2142 Rules)

Allright, we need to hold back a bit. The thing is that squads are mainly a feature for supporting members. The TG-Irr is currently the only group that is not comprised of SM(supporting members) only. We need to do this the proper way and check out if it is allright to form another group of organized players that are not comprised of SMs. I'm all in for joining a squad that is based on timezones from around GMT -2 til GMT +2 but we can not take away one of the selling factors(inhouse squads) of TG that helps fund this community. So before we go further we need a go from an admin on this issue.
On another note I am noticing increased interrest from Europeans, that I like.--

The reason im not a sm at the moment, is i am waiting to test how the gameplay is bbefore i join up properly, hopefully this week

I'm confused as to exactly what it is that you guys are trying to achieve. If you want to play on TG servers at a respectible hour, then it's take nothing more than to arrange a Euro night. We have run these in the past and they are very successful. You tend to find that when a server hits around 16 players it fills up rapidly after that.
If you want to create a squad that you all play together, practice together, develop tactics together and eventually fight scrims against other teams together then you require something a little more complicated. In this circumstance you would need to create a TG In House Squad. This requires that all players be Supporting Members, but for this (amongst the other greeat perks you get at TG) you can reserve a private server slot to play and practice on, and a private forum to discuss all your secret strategies. You would need to assign a number for your squad, although you can have letters after it if you wish. This would need to be cleared through Apophis.
Unless you are in an In House Squad, or the Irregulars (which is an oxymoron as anyone can be in the irregulars) then you should not use any TG tag other than |TG| (or varient, ie [TG] etc). Generally having |TG-... and then your own mark afterwards is unacceptable, and basically meaningless. Sorry :|

Speaking for myself, I'm not looking to form a European branch of TG, just looking to play at a suitable time when I can't play at the hour that the server is most populated, i.e. from about 8pm Eastern. Living in England, and being retired I can play at any time of the day up till around 10-11pm UK time. I'm by no means a skilled FPS player so I wouldn't be looking to join in clan scrims, I wouldn't be much help, except in teamwork. Originally Posted by Wulfyn

I'm in EST timezone, but a lot of times I'm available to play in the evening hours of GMT. Mondays work best for me. Maybe you should start a poll for people to vote on what day(s)/time would be best to start a GMT game.
