Re: Battlefield 2 Statistics have released their program.
They actually released it yesterday, made the announcement, then made it official today. So it's the same thing I posted on. Whatever, now everyone is doubly aware.

Re: Battlefield 2 Statistics have released their program.
There was a mix of responses to Bhack yesterday.
Some were in jest, some were serious, some were misinformed, some were confused. It's just a typical day on the forums. It could be worse though, you could be on any other forum.

Re: New private ranking system
Page four, probably pretty late to weigh in with any gravity, but this would be a GODSEND for the League.
We currently have someone devoted exclusively to developing this system's applications for the League. It's that important. It would make all of the League staffs' jobs a lot easier by vastly simplifying the record-keeping process.
More importantly though is its applications toward match outcome prediction. Every match needs to be carefully tuned to make it a balanced match and not a one-sided blow-out victory. You'd think that wouldn't be the case that law of averages would keep things within the realm of fairness but looking back over the preseason we can say that is emphatically not the case. But if we could look at these tracked stats per team and make adjustments in who we match up with who, we would have a much simplier time ensuring the matches are competitive.
So that'd be even less work and we could focus our energies on improving the league elsewhere. It would be fantastic for the League to be able to access this body of data and I whole-heartedly support it and I would encourage any League fans to do the same. This would let us improve the League SO mcuh.
Whatever measures admins feel necessary like private or SM-only stat tracking would be fine, although on that issue I'd say that TGers are TGers and I for one have the faith in them that they won't melt into score-crazed stat-fiends if we bring a stat system in. Especially one designed around TG principles. That temptation has been out there elsewhere and they're choosen to come here. It's an over-blown fear IMHO, and one easily corrected by pulling the plug if that fear becomes reality.Last edited by ABRA; 02-02-2006 at 05:54 PM.

Re: New private ranking system
I would love to see this feature added if it doesn't affect game performance.
Will having a Stat system all of the sudden turn us into a less tactical and team oreinted group? Hell no.. and if anyone is concerned with it affecting the unwashed massess then lets limit its access to forum users or SM's and make it another feature of membership.
I'm an analyst IRL and would love to have some game metrics to track my playing over time. I could care less to compare myself using a leaderboard or anything else, but maybe I would like to see how some of the medics I really respect as my superiors are doing and how far stat-wise I have to go to emmulate them.|TG-12th| SHINER

Re: New private ranking system
I think TG does not need stats. Part of what makes the fighting so great is that fighters sacrifice themselves for their team. There is no stat that can register that, so, TG should skip stats all together.
Don't tinker with perfection. . . TG absoloutely rocks as is.Only the dead have seen the end of war.

A humble (or may be not) effort to support my position on anti-stat side (Stats like K/D, revive, repair, etc)

Re: New private ranking system
why cant people just take this as a thought or suggestion or neat feature. no one has said we are gonna use it or its in effect now. its just something as a gamer we have all grown up and come accustomed to and i think someone else stated it, We are tactical gamer players we come to TG servers to play differently, stats isn't gonna turn our servers into pubbies or EA ranked anarchy. A majority if not all know what looking at individual stats will do, make you play better to improve yourself.
And since we are all long time BF2 players we already know what or at least could guess what each squad or person will do in certain situations and have a good idea of what kits each uses and is good at.
/end spell checkthat sounds like a good idea trooper.
