New private ranking system
Admins, check http://www.bf2statistics.com/ and see if it's viable to be run on the BF2 server.
Supposedly allows you to setup your own private ranking system. Would be nice for us that generally only play on TG servers to at least know our stats. I believe you even get awards and medals just like the EA system.

Re: New private ranking system
Sounds interesting. I'm not one for comparing myself to others, but would like to understand how I'm performing over time. ie. is my K
:Revive ratio improving when I play medic?

I don't think so. We are about teamplay and team success not scores.

Re: New private ranking system
This sounds like an interesting system, but if TG really wanted ranked servers I'm sure we would have them. To be honest, I'd rather know my squad and team are doing well than know how I am doing. Stats can't measure your ability to be commander, to lead a squad, or to follow orders. All of these are more important on TG than K-D ratios.

Re: New private ranking system
bah, missing the point.
This isn't about comparing scores, etc. But it would be NICE to be able to have your stats recorded, over time, for your viewing pleasure. Just for poops and giggles.
Plus, you can get awards. I think.

Re: New private ranking system
We don't even keep stats on the CSS server here, and there are lots of good tools for that.
TG is not about stats.

Re: New private ranking system
I have to agree with Bhack on this one. I personally LOVE teamwork and value that a million times more than stats. Teamwork is always first. However, why cant we have both? Ive said it before, but some of us spend close to 20 hrs a week playing BF2 on TG's servers. It would just be NICE to see hey, im better with this kit than another, or w00t! im an awesome medic keeping my team alive cuz i just got a medic award. It's just nice to see something for all the time we spend playing this game that's all. I know we give out our own awards, but it would be nice if it's automated somehow, and it would mean less work for admins.
I didnt mean any dis respect by anything ive said, just giving my opinion. If it truly is thought to go against TG spirit, then so be it, but IMHO, i really dont think that having both is a bad thing. I think its perfect we're unranked, with no unlocks...keeps it very fair and team based. This lil program looks very interesting and at the very least i think it should at least be looked into, IMO. But again, its up to you guys.

Re: New private ranking system
Stats are about "I"
TG is about "TEAM" and "OBJECTIVE"
The last thing I would like to see on TG servers would be any kind of stat system. I wish there was a way of getting rid of SCOREBOARD completely.
If you are wondering how you did, ask this question to yourself: "Did I help my squad to achieve its mission?" This has almost nothing to do with your K/D, Heal, Revive etc. This is about being at the right place, at the right time and doing the right thing by following your leader's orders.
You can be a great medic but if you are leaving the formation and not following your leadman to revive this and that around, you are a BAD team player.
You can be a great assault guy with a K/D of 100:1, but if you are engaging every single enemy when you spot them and violating the ROE, risking the mission and ruining the element of surprise in attack, you are a BAD team player.
List goes on. Sometimes there might be a correlation between good stats and being a good team player. Therefore I am not calling all good players with impressive stats as bad team players. But from my observations, there are many excellent team players with terrible stats because their focus is on their duties.
Putting a stat system is an open invitation to "selfish" gameplay.

Re: New private ranking system
With our servers invariably filled with people new to TG...what's to set us apart?
Sure it'd be nice to understand what kit is best for any one player but I think any TG'er worth his or her salt already knows that intuitively. We've got enough trouble dealing with the occaisional jihad jeep or blackhawk rammer as it is...a feature like that would attract more of those "pubbie"types...
I came to TG to get away from all that. My vote is no Not that we are taking a vote mind you--just my .02|TG-1st|Grunt
