Tactical Gamer supporting the Tactical Mod
Tactical Gamer is providing a lot of support for the Tactical Mod. The mod is created by TG members and hosted on TG servers. This mod has the potential to draw more attention of like minded individuals to TG.
You may have noticed that the latest (.7) release is now available. The first play test will be during this Sunday Tac Mod night. We ask that as many TGers as possible log onto the server to help test and provide feedback. This is a critical release & play test for the mod. Shortly after the play test, we will be announcing the mod to those outside of TG in hopes of drawing more players to the community.
To help emphasize the mod, we will be hosting the Tactical Mod on Server #1 on Sunday evenings. This is a big step for TG to temporarily take down the vanilla server in place of the Tactical Mod. This will not be the permanent home for the mod, rather this is more of a trial promotional period as we take this public. If we generate enough interest for the mod, TG will look to hosting it more than just Sunday nights. When that happens, we will re-assess the server situation.

8pm EST is when Tactical Mod Night officially starts. We'll likely switch the server over to the mod when a round ends sometime between 7:30 and 8:00.

Im in. Dont forget to keep the SM kick on the server. I dunno if that would get screwed up if you change it to the Tac Mod.

Lets get this populated guys. Even if you dont like the tactical mod, this is a new version..there are changes. Try it and see if you like it.

Go figure I have to work Sunday night too !
Well I wish I could be there to play the newest mod but it'll have to wait untill the next time..

ill try to be there. monday morning its back to work and i cant stay up till 3am (local time) every day
a thought: do you think its a good idea to start the promotion at a time where the next patch is almost here? i reckon the new patch brings incompatibilities with mods for earlier versions and that technical problems may drive away some people from the excellent Tactical Mod.TG-E1st TacticalGamer European Division | Watch this (pretty old) video to find out what TG is all about

And remember that even great things may require some time to get used to. Tactical mod is almost a totally different game.
If you drink a hot coke, you would most certainly not enjoy it. If you play the tactical mod like you are playing regular BF2, you will also not enjoy it.
Have a balanced kit distribution in your squad, take your time to plan your attack (there is no artillery to punish you), take your time to maneuver and surprise the enemy (no UAV to punish you), stay together, use cover and smoke, run from cover to cover...
How many times you are frustrated by bombers, choppers and artillery? With Tactical Mod, you will no more !
Did you give up trying tactics which will surprise your enemy because it is almost impossible with UAV? Well, you can shock them now with Tactical Mod.
Did you forget what suppressive fire means because there is no such thing in vanilla? You will remember with Tactical Mod.
The only thing that this mod is missing is a FULL SERVER + BIG MAPS. Duke, Asch and others who contributed to the mod did their part, we have a great mod in our hands. Now it is OUR turn. Lets fill the server so that we can see the full potential of this beauty. Lets show developers we appreciate their work and support them for making a mod worthy of tactical gamer.
