Server Schedule
On the BF2 server schedule I noticed that tact mod is sunday night, and thursday night. Tuesday and Saturday night are euro forces. This leaves Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights as the only nights with vanilla? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't play tac mod or have euro forces, so basically that's limiting me to 3 nights a week on TG now. To me it looked like last time tried euro forces on a sat night it killed the population to 22/64, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway my question is , is this schedule just this week or is it an all time thing?

Re: Server Schedule
The schedule is in effect until it is changed. We have not had a discussion on changing it.
We've really just played one EF map at a time on the EF nights that we've had (the past several times no one has put up a EF map, and we've only played all 3 maps once). On Sunday and Thursday, server 2 is switched to vanilla so that those that do not like tacmod can play vanilla. So, that's about 2 hours of vanilla time that you "lose" out on and only when we remember to put an EF map up.Battlefield Admin(BF2 Rules) (BF2142 Rules)

Re: Server Schedule
What i know will not been taken into consideration cause it was tried already is special forces. I just upgraded some parts where it runs smoothly now. I want to play it with TG then pubbie servers.

A lot of people here have it, but they just don't seem to play it.

Re: Server Schedule
Suggestion:
1) Replace one of the vanilla nights on server 1 with Special Forces or
2) Consider those two days assigned to Euro Booster as Expansion Pack nights. Rotate all BF2 expansion and booster packs (Special Forces, Euro, etc) on those two days. Also, dont mix pack maps with vanilla. Since it is only once or twice a week, change all maps in rotation to booster pack maps. There will be plenty of opportunity to play vanilla maps on vanilla/tac mod nights.
Why?
Server 1 is proved to be THE server if you want to give a chance for a mod/expansion. Put it on server 2 and mod/pack will die in time. Server 2 is "alternative" server for those who dont want to get the packs/play the mods.
IMHO, server 1 should target the hardcore BF2 player who plays the game very frequently and follows the community closely. Therefore this type of player needs variation more than the others. Server 1 should also be the server following BF2 community developments day to day. Expansion packs, Booster packs, big mods (Tactical Mod, PoE, FH, etc) should all have a slot on it.
I might be totally wrong on this one but low server population seems to be the main reason for decline of SF on TG.
I dont know the situation for Euro Pack. Did it help to put in on server 1? It might be still early to talk about it now. Schedule has been recently posted on general forums and lots of people had technical problems with Euro pack.
Just some quick thoughts for discussion. It is not an easy task to predict BF2 community behavior. Ahh Hari Seldon, where are you

Re: Server Schedule
I like that idea, many people here haven't been able to play Special Forces on TG because when it was on server 2, nobody went on it. If we have a night dedicated to booster/expansion packs then people will get a chance to play it with all their TG buddies

Re: Server Schedule
SF never took off becuase of low pop. Even on a good wednesday SF night we were lucky to get a single map in with more than 12 players. To my knowledge no EF night has been that succesful either, but again its early on that one. The only succesful server #2 nights I've seen are TacMod related as that has really started to generate some interest and being a free expansion everyone at TG has easy access to it.
For those that haven't enjoyed TacMod in the past there are a few things to consider:
1. Version 1.0 is a significantly different mod from earlier versions with more vanilla friendly tweaks, Team dependancy and teamwork are still accentuated but in different ways then before.
2. TacMod nights are starting to max the server which is certainly more fun then the 1 or 2 squads per side that previous versions enjoyed.
3. We are going to make a point to mix in-house squad members with non affiliates and non-TG players during Thursday and Sunday nights. The mod, like any other, takes more than one session to get used to and it really helps to have a TacMod experienced SL and a few TacMod regulars to help out new players.
I won't guarentee you will like it, but I think most TG players will find the TacMod does enhance the very aspects of BF2 that we are trying to achieve with this community.|TG-12th| SHINER

Re: Server Schedule
Have you guys ever thought that maybe, just maybe, the reason why nobody plays SF/EF is because it sucks compared to vanilla? Just because a few vocal people on the forums say it's great doesn't mean the majority of people actually think that.

Looks like I did by saying "I might be totally wrong on this one but low server population seems to be the main reason for decline of SF on TG"

Re: Server Schedule
In addition to members like JMJ who play on pubbies due to low TG server population, there are also members like me who dont play the game at all since pubby is not a viable alternative for TG. Even though I dont like night maps and even faster-than-vanilla pace of SF, I would probably play it on a full TG server. And we have a Tactical Mod SF version . Now playing THAT, on a full TG server would be sweet...

Re: Server Schedule
I, just like JMJ get my fix from FULL pubby servers on both SF and EF. It seems that here no one is interested here. It is a shame that alot of us have to go elsewhere to play these BF2 packs.
