    Exclamation Please go test the new server

    I need as many people as possible to hop on the new BF2 server and test it out. It's running vanilla BF2 and needs as close to 64 players on it as possible..

    I'm stuck at work another couple of hours but would be happy to test this evening when we can realistically get 64 people on it.

    Where is it physically located? I'm pinging it from work (about 15 miles from home) and getting back a solid ping of 47-50.

    I (just) hopped on but there was no one else there so I couldn't test for lag. The screen kept saying something about server running old version of punkbuster c1.110. I then got booted for avg. ping of over 350. Now, 300 isn't abnormal for me in Iceland (To get to the U.S. our circuit has to go to the mainland Europe first) but I never experience lag with it (I just have to learn to shoot quicker!). I did notice that my ping was ~390-410 for the minute or so I was on.

    On a seperate but related note, is my high ping slowing everyone else down when I play? I've only been on TG for about 5 days but I hope I'm not screwing everyone else up. Please excuse my naivete in this matter.

    I broke it while futzing with the PunkBuster configuration. It's back up and operational now! Get in there!

    The ping issues have been resolved. You shouldn't get kicked now. And yes, the server is currently fetching a punkbuster update, so you can ignore those messages for now.

    I played lone wold for about a minute. Very smooth, no lag. Thanks for the ping adjustment, I did notice it got better back to around ~300.

    I did ignore the msgs about PB but it booted me regardless. I'll give it some time to finish fetching then try again.
