If the commander could drop humvees, I would just stick them on top of a building so you could have a portable .50 cal. Sure, you'd be vulnerable, but the vantage point coupled with the crazy powerful machinegun... you'd be killing people left and right. Imagine assaulting a flag, but instead of having to call for artillery you can just ask some guy on a building to saturate the place with bullets.

Will the gun depress that much? Best just using them to scare the bejeesus out of your team mates by dropping them as close as you can.

As funny as that sounds, it probably wouldn't work too well. You can already drop supply crates on snipers for one, and two, humvees have wheels. Sometimes I crawl under humvees for a little concealment.

The humvees would most probably blow up on impact and kill everything within the explosion raduis, so this would be a quite expensive artillery shell in effect.

The comment was targeted to Munchkins rumor which JMJ commented as ineffective about commander being able to drop Humvees from the sky.

If you drop a humvee from a resonable high altitude it blows up on impact, which makes it an expensive artillery shell. Unless they fix a parachute to it which they probably would.

Edit: My post seems like complete rubbish, I thought the posting from Munchkin was a joke..... but on second read it might be true.....

I'm pretty sure we all just assumed it would have a parachute attached to it. That is why it didn't make sense to us.

Though if they didn't have a chute that'd be sort of interesting. Just kinda raining Humvees. I actually wish they made it so the CO could drop boats. After the fun I had on cleansweep last night, I really appreciate a good ship to ship boat fight. Seriously, I made my squad move in boats whenever possible. Next time that map comes up I'm going to create a "coast guard" squad and just boat around.
