Re: newbie CO
Everyone's got to learn sometime. A bad commander is better than no commander, and soon you won't be a bad commander anymore.

Re: newbie CO
I'm learning too.
I've been coing when the server starts to slow down and about 30-50 people are on. Eventually when I'm comfortable I'll CO some during primetime...

Re: newbie CO
Thats odd mantis. I usually hate COing smaller games cuz it feels more like wack a mole and somewhat out of control. My rule is that if theres 25 or more people on each side and i dont have a SL that i hate with a passion, ill step up.

Re: newbie CO
Dude all I can say is I suck at CO'ing lol. I don't knwo hwo anyone can manage a full pop. let alone 20-30 players. I think I need to practice using teh UI in single player mode before I make any more attempts at CO'ing on the server. Thank God I only do it on TG because you guys are so supportive about newbie CO's.

Re: newbie CO
You mean the "enemy infantry spotted!" stuff? The commander can actually see them from the satellite view; it's quite helpful when he does that. It might get on your nerves but it's invaluable.

Re: newbie CO
I've said this before, but I still believe the best way to learn to CO is to find someone who is comfortable doing it and have them make and lock a squad by themselves. They can talk directly to you and walk you through it. This works even on busy games, as long as the new CO can stay calm and listen carefully. I LOVED doing this the 2 times I've gotten to step in and help out a new guy. PLEASE ask me in game if you want to command sometime.....I'll give you all the tips and tricks and you'll feel like a veteran by the end of a round or two!
