European Tactical server....
Hello everyone please excuse my english.....I recently discovered your site and server and i must say it's the only server (in the world?) where i can find real teamplay, if everybody knew this community exists the servers would be full 24/7, i have a problem though, i live in France and when i am on your server my ping is always higher than 150 which makes the game too lagy for me play well.
I d like to support this community and becoming a supporting member but i wonder, if there were enough people interested, could it be possible to have a tactical-gamer server located in europe? i mean a lot of people in europe are looking for teamplay server, and i think they would have no problem to become supporting members for a server like yours in europe. For instance i am planning on buying a another computer soon for work and i have a router and cable connection 10mbps so i would be my pleasure to host this server on my other computer but i understand that it may be not enough.
Of course all of this is just supposition, by the way, may be someone has already asked about this before but i searched the forums and didn t find anything, i' ll be back from work next saturday, so i won t be able to answer posts before the end of next week.
Thank you

Re: European Tactical server....
I always thought it was a good idea to have a euro tactical gamer server. Not sure why we don't. Really be a new and cool way to attract more euros, especially with ping friendly games.

We have many Euro players from all over the world from the UK, Isreal, Australia, Russia that play on our server but I don't think having a server in a Euro country would eleviate everyones ping that's in a GMT time zones, as many would still be very far from that server no matter where you put it. Many of our Euro players have adjusted to the high pings they encounter and do quite well. Hope to see you on the battlefield soon.

Re: European Tactical server....
Hi wioiw (im looking forward to pronouncing that name over VOIP
). As others have stated we do have quite a few euro players here and we do suffer somewhat from the 100+ pings. Its not too hard to adapt though as long as you can get over the occasional death as you get safely into cover behind a wall.
Id much rather play on a server full of good people and teamwork with a high ping that on another with a good ping and a worse experience. Thats why im here at TG, the community and quality of play more than compensate.
While we do have a good number of Euros another server might split the population too much. As it stands we can muster a full server with a good percentage of TGers at prime time. If a lot of the euros were on a different server maybe they would both not reach a higher number of players or if they did the ratio of TG to wildcards would be reduced and might negatively affect play.
You can always try the euro nights. There you will all have high ping so its a level playing field.

Welcome wioiw, I'm glad that you have found TG. As Jimmy stated we are quite a few European players and our numbers are growing. The first European inhouse(E1st) squad was formed quite recently. 150+ ping takes a bit of adjustment, you will probably do a bit worse than you are used to, but a bit of trial and error and you should get used to it. I've switched to supporting kits like medic/engineer and support that does not rely so much on the "twitch skills". But unfortunately you will tend to loose 1 on 1 fights with the players over the pond who have equal "twitch" skills as you due to hit registration being done serverside.
But enough of all that, TG is a lot more than the abillity to "Rambofy" the opposing kittens, you will be under the wings of able squad leaders and perhaps take the step up to do the squadleading yourself. You will meet mature gamers who elevates themself over the (mildly put) annoying public server players with their ingame flames and kickvotes. If you would like to participate in more structured play here at TG check out the Irregulars. Signing up for them is done here--

Re: European Tactical server....
Hello everybody,
I'll make a beautiful up on this (quite dusty) topic
Since I discovered TG community, I searched among EU clans and communities, but I never found anything like a TG experience.
I wondered what is the position of TG regarding some kind of "local section" of TG-inspired community.
Because for non-native english speaking people, it's difficult to breach the language barrier.
I'll love to play like TG with my native language with fellow comrades, to fully experience this way of gaming.
What do you think of this kind of local initiative, inspired by the "master" TG community, with the same kind of organisation, a local TGU and so on...
Can we imagine some kind of partnership under some kind of "TG WorldWide United"
?

Re: European Tactical server....
Hey, welcome!
It is great that you´ve found your way over to the TG-server. You´ll adjust to the ping-issue. I play from even farther away than you, and you will learn to cope with it.
[To be honest, I haven´t really had any issues at all with a 150+ ping.] As for a Euro-server...Well, I did actually think of that this evening when I logged on at about 2000h [GMT+1] and found the server to be full! Now, isn´t that quite good for a US-server and the way it should be?
We Euro's fill it up during hour "prime" gaming hours, and then our frieinds from across the water take over the night-shift.

Re: European Tactical server....
You're right, we could cope with high ping, the time shift will make a bit difficult to play with fellow US TG'er.
But in fact, the most difficult thing in my opinion is tha language barrier.
I know a lot of people who are not confident in speaking/writing English, because of that, we couldn't fully appreciate playing on TG servers.
That's why I was asking TG views about local TG community initiative gathering people speaking the same native language.
But maybe I'll start a new thread about it, since it's not fully related to only server

Re: European Tactical server....
Just tell your friends and yourself to speak English man. I have never in my life heard someone berate someone else for not speaking a foreign language well.
Most people will always appreciate any effort to speak their language.
In the end splitting up TG over different servers would be a bad idea. Every new game effectively splits off some of the community. There wouldn't be enough good TG to set the example on all servers, and there wouldn't be enough admins around either.
I play from Belgium. I often get shot AFTER i have ducked behind cover. It is very frustrating, but not as frustrating as the other servers are. What it's like to play online games as a grown-up:http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-i...e_gaming/1.jpg

Re: European Tactical server....
I've played with an all Spanish-speaking squad before, and let me tell you I felt really lost, but I found it neat that people speaking different languages are playing the same game. Remember that speaking is not required, and just because you can't speak English well or at all doesn't mean that you aren't welcome in my or any other TG'ers squad. With regards to the server Al hit the nail on the head, it would simply fracture the community too much to be a viable option.
