Re: Favorite Map
kubra is one of the coolest looking maps, with unique structures, oddly enough you don't see alot of the same structures in other maps, It has great depth to it as well.
It's just the CPs are not set up right imo, I think if someone took it and redid all the CP's we'd have a really fun map.
cleansweep is just to linear like wake island.
Oman is just below par, Don't care for the open-ness to it, contruction site is the only part of the map that is cool, its like a wanna be urban map.|TG-12th|Undead

Re: Favorite Map
I voted for Mashtuur City, but Zatar Wetlands is a close second, with Fushe Pass not far behind.

Re: Favorite Map
Well you left of Sharqi which can have by far the best battles at 64p size. After that I really like Zatar which is well balanced and allows for some flanking movement.
1. Sharqi w/out Helo
2. Mashtuur
3. Zatar Wetlands|TG-12th| SHINER

Re: Favorite Map
I went with Songhua, with the usual proviso that the teams are balanced. Oh and I am talking about Songhua-32. The 64-player variant needs 10 more players on each team to cover the wide spread of flags.
We played Songhua with the APC's removed about a week ago and it was one of the best games I've ever had in BF2. It was well balanced, and teams did alot of creeping through the trees, rather than running out to steal armor.Peace through fear... since 1947!

Re: Favorite Map
I think the 16 player Kubra Dam is one of the best maps. The firefights on top of the bridge always seem to be quite intense and fun.

Re: Favorite Map
Visually, Kubra Dam. It has amazing lighting and texturing, even on low detail which I play on. Unfortunately it's probably one of the worst maps for the gameplay.
Gameplay, Tie between Mashtuur, Karkand and Songhua with Mashtuur just a bit ahead of the others. Karkand is very fun and intense IF it doesn't degenerate into a river standoff. When the action constantly moves from east to west and back it's a lot of fun especially when teams are balanced. Songhua is awesome when you're defending the North Island CP, especially as an AT. There's so many places to hide to shoot APCs from, I love it. I wouldn't want to play that map without the million APCs in it, it's an AT-heavy map and it's fun as hell. ATs can defend themselves very well against infantry in that map anyway with all the foliage, you can get close enough to people to own them with the SMG.

Killrog:
I love those river standoffs on Karkand. So much carnage, so many bullets flying around. That situation always calls for some real cooperation and planning to break out or gain a foothold.
I've always advocated the "Clown Car" Get as many Sls as you can in one car or APC and make a bum rush across the bridge, land bridge, or north of the bridge in an APC. Jump out and and SPAWN ON ME!Only the dead have seen the end of war.

Re: Favorite Map
Sharqi with choppers is probably the worst...Sharqi without choppers = Jolly Happy Fun Time! I just like that their are lots of ways to attack flags and lots of cover.

Re: Favorite Map
Yeah it's intense but it usually comes down to an artillery war.
