Alternative Input Device(s)
Recently discovered the joy of using an 8" USB Touch Screen.
Must admit, limited use with a frantic based game like BF2, where most key combinations are best off at your fingertips.
This baby comes in to its own for use in Lock On or any other flight sim.
I even use it to replace keyboard shortcuts in Premiere Pro/Encore and After Effects.

Apologies for the picture quality, taken with my 7 year old Video camera. But you get the idea.

Re: Alternative Input Device(s)
Interesting setup you have there. How much did it cost you?

Re: Alternative Input Device(s)
Touchscreen was approx £200.
I know in the States, some Flight Sim fans have got the equivalent screen for approx $200
Buttons are done in Photoshop (or any other art program). And can be placed anywhere on the screen. Tabs at the bottom of the screen split the buttons up in to logical "screens". Comms/Tactical/Game etc.

I really envy the USB Gillette Mach 3 razor you have next to the mouse.

Yeah, that's an awesome setup. I've been waiting for the Optimus Keyboard, but that screen looks rad. Maybe I'll get both.

Re: Alternative Input Device(s)
Do you need a second video card for that touch screen?

Re: Alternative Input Device(s)
Morning Dice,
Dont need a second video card, but it would be handy. One video card, windows will detect as a dual monitor setup.
The problem is windows minimizes any open window if another window is clicked in/on - author of the software is attempting a work around to stop this happening.
The best setup is if you have an old pc that can act as the client (in a network). Run the software as a client on the old clapped out machine, (with the screen attatched to this machine) and the software as server on your games machine. Touch screen command is then sent to the game. The operation then, is absolutely flawless.
Expensive if you need to buy a 2nd PC to run it on. I picked one up for £25 (an old 386 will do, just to run the software). And think its great!

Re: Alternative Input Device(s)
The price is going to be sick as well. They're currently taking orders for a 3-button accessory version of it, and it's selling for $120. That's $40/key, so multiply that by a full keyboard and you get a new hole in your wazoo.

I use an Ideazon Merc keyboard. Very happy with it. Be happier later this summer when they update the software so you can program macros on the fly.
