    Now that's hardcore!

    Have you experimented with this? Do you actually notice a difference?

    It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them;
    if double, engage them; if equal, be able to divide them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.

    Yes, it is a big difference. Using Disktrix UltimateDefrag is a miracle worker. Love the program. I have tried numerous defrag programs so I could get faster load times cause I know I do not have a lightning fast computer. So far UltimateDefrag is the best. If you download it and use it, make sure to read carefully how to set it up, don't expect it to know what you want. Windows default defrag program just consolidates only the fragmented files. If the data is in the middle of the disc then it will keep it there, just moving the files around and keeping it in the same area saying your HDD(s) are defragged. My computer starts and loads a lot quicker, I also use msconfig to make sure no unnessecary programs are starting when the computer first starts up. On top of that, I used another program caled NliteOS and made my own stripped down copy of XP Pro, which runs a lot FASTER. It has all the Windows updates, driver updates, and other programs I use that install automatically without me needing to watch as Windows installs. Windows has so much BS that is added that is not needed or ever used by most home users.
    I try anything and everything to get the most out of my computer, so far I have not tried overclocking, a little scared to try that. Last time I did that I ended up with a worthless little glob on my MB that everyone woulda called the processor.

    Re: How long does it take to load a new map?

    No man, I am not hardcore. Far from it and I know a few people that really are into squeezing every single little MHz out of their memory, video card, and processor. I just picked up a few things through these people to help me out. I already have everything in mind for a new computer if I get the funds together to get it built. I should have a screaming meanie then, if I get the funds before I get old and grey that is.

    New computer I plan on building is going to consist of:
    Intel processor E4300(can be overclocked like crazy, comparable to the quad core in speed after the E4300 is overclocked and less heat)
    2 Gb DDR2 800Mhz memory
    2 - WD Raptor HDD(any size but prefer at least the 74 giggers)
    1 - storage HDD at least 400Gb
    8800GTS 648 Mb video card(ATI scares me after all the bad luck and RMA'ed cards I had to deal with)
    Already have case and all the cooling it needs with 2 - 120 mm fans and 1 - 80 mm cpu duct fan.
    Of course a DVD burner of some kind.
    Asus MB(thinking about the 650i board)

    All this is still to keep cost at a minimal and still end up with a good gaming rig. Then I can test my therory with the raptors by not making them RAID0, run Windows off one and the games off the other.
