What happend to AAC
I believe that was the name of the mod.I maybe played it once. It was fun to the point where the system told the oppsing team to attack the UCB onced they capd everything. I think it should have said be ready for an attack at this flag. Reason I am asking is that I am getting tired of playing early on the servers with only little amount of people if not it has happend once its full where the other team is too good or starts off very well and the game ends in less than 5 mintues. Then i have to spend another 5 loading up the new map. I have read some posts about asking them to stand down and make the game more enjoyible but I have see alot of new people which i welcome but they are still pubbies none the less. On another note adding that ACC thing to the main server or even Tacmod would make battles way bigger. I do enjoy going on a 2-3 man team and seperating form the main group to take out an objective but for those who just want to kill and have chaos all around them the whole thing about going from flag to flag in an order would make the battles more bigger. You could coordinate attacks as a whole much better since everyone has the same objective to go for. Well if anyone else here remembers that mod add your pros and cons about it. Maybe we can get interest into it again and try it out. See if it works out.

I think it was AAS mod and it was pretty cool. It may be a great way to manage small numbers conflict kicking off the beginning of the night or at the end.

Amen, Visser. I've been waiting for a discussion of the early evening play. Feels like staring at a loading screen for hours. That mod would certainly fix that. But if we're not interested in running a modded version, we can just standardize some rules about playing according to the number of players.

The problem with this mod is that it requires a server restart in order to change back to vanilla. That boots everyone and you're not assured they'll come back.

If they work as a team, we can't kick them for hopping in a tank or jumping in the CO chair. I try to do my part by removing assets on low player games and that seems to work okay for that one problem, but I don't have a solution for people capping the other team out quickly.

Are you talking about language differences? Or just plain laziness?

Anyone remember David? The thing is, it's almost always NOT a regular on the server doing it. We should have some way of preventing one "stranger" for ruining the round for 6 players, regulars or not.

Not language differences, just plain not reading. I'm one of them

Re: What happend to AAC
I had two really good rounds of oman with the AAS push mod. It led to a really long and intense firefight on oman. It was great to have so many bodies close together and the volume of fire coming at our "platoon" was immense. Two squads putting down suppressive fire whilst a third tries to work its way across open ground is a joy to behold. It really put a different angle on the game, it felt more like a battle than normal Bf2 because you had a series of objectives. It gets a thumbs up from me. However, as mentioned previously, because it is a seperate mode requiring a server restart on start/end it would be hard to work into an early evening/late night scenario.

Re: What happend to AAC
The biggest problem I see with AAS is it becomes a bit too crowded around flags as only the one flag is important so all 64 players are around one point. If AAS could be opened up to allow multiple attack options then it would work better and not be 64 players fighting over a small area. An intriguing idea popped up at PRMM where if a team could turn a flag grey that wasn't in the sequence it would prevent the other team from being able to respawn at the flags that were cut off from their ucb.

In this image (created by [R-Pub]Cerberus) a USMC squad was able to capture the MEC held Hotel. The MEC squads at the Eastern Beach point can no longer spawn on the flag, only their squadleaders or the other 3 flags of course. In turn no USMC squads can spawn at the hotel thus the squad there must hold out until another squad arrives or the USMC can capture the Eastern Beach. The MEC on the other hand will look to either displace the cut off USMC squad at hotel, just keep sending troops to the East Beach or try to cut off the USMC reinforcements themselves. I think its pretty interesting if its possible and allows for more open play then regular AAS but certainly more structured than vanilla BF2.

I thought the AAS was meant for fewer players. So, there should be no problem with having 64 players at one site since there should not be that many players around.

Re: What happend to AAC
Its just about perfect for around 32-40 if i remember correctly. 2-3 squads per side works well. Its just about impossible to rush a flag so theres more emphasis on getting close and whittling down the opfor numbers by attrition before making a move. That means great firefights and less sliding through humvee windows and speeding off dukes of hazard style.
