Vanilla-only night, Friday 8/4
Here it comes again (from the boss), another Friday of vanilla only maps. Let's fill up the server like we did last week, but let's do it for a longer period

Some things will be the same as last week, some will be different.
For Friday, please:
- Do not have 1 or 2 man locked squads. This is not doing any service to your team.
- Do not have 6 two man squads. Your CO can't work with this. Combine up when possible.
- Correct newbies when they are in your squad and doing something wrong. If that fails, report them.
- Report bad behavior to an admin on TS.
- Switch your top squad in the event of a blowout.
- Please step up as CO if your team doesn't have one. There were several times that one team went without a CO last Friday. That's when we have a blowout. Seriously, if *I* can manage to CO 2 rounds, ANY of you can do at least 1 (and do a MUCH better job!)
- Step up the quality of gameplay and force everyone else to do the same. There was still a lot of smacktard behavior last week.
If we hit Karkand, it will definitely have a 4 minute wait before the round starts. This should leave the MEC side no excuse to setup a good defense early in the game. If someone on the MEC side thinks they need a bit more time, ask on TS.
If any CO thinks they need an extra 2 minutes to prepare before a round starts, speak up on TS. We can do that for you, especially if it's going to give us a better round
And no matter what any of you say, I still say Kubra 64 can give us an excellent round with 2 CO's!
So, feel free to discuss any issues or concerns here

I like the idea of giving MEC more time to plan on how to lose lol j/k. Sounds like a good plan JMJ!!

I wish that 4 min pre-round delay were a standard procedure for all maps, not only for Karkand.
Forming squads, assigning fire teams and other organizational things (opening move, overall strategy) take 3-5 min. This kind of prep would significantly increase the overall quality of the games played here.

I agree with this. By giving teams time to form up (squads) and take positions/orders, the quality of the resulting battle is greatly improved.

2 minutes is the max we can set. However, as the time comes to start the map, we can just hit reset to get another 2 minutes. All this does is restart the timer, it doesn't reload the map...that way planning can continue.

I second the motion to have 4 minutes (2x2) instead of 2 to prepare. Whenever I go CO there is never time for squads to fill up and pick kits before the round starts and thus no time to make sure every squad knows where they're suposed to go.

That's what made me a little upset last week. We'd get blown out yet the same teams remained the following round.Switch your top squad in the event of a blowout.|TG-12th| jmaker

Well when the server is full you need admin help to move people around since you can't switch teams when they're even.

Generally when one team gets blown out, either nobody switches or everybody switches. It almost never works out to translate into a better game in the following round. Either it will staya blowout for whichever team won the previous round, or the teams will basically flip. I think admin intervention is the only way to go to avoid that.

I can't speak for anyone else, but if I'm playing BF 2, I turn off my Teamspeak, it's just too confusing otherwise. I can't imagine if your CO or squad leading even having TS on!?!? This makes it kind of difficult on those rare ocasions when I need admin support, but i havn't a clue what to do about it.
