howdy
Blue echo turned me on to you guys
I’m a sniper and medic in bf2 but my main love is sniping
Most if not all my skill is actually derived from real world tactics and logic
I’m a dw member but I’m really seeking some real tactics
but I do feel that the sniper has been shunned due to the lack of tactical snipers what squad based ideas do you have for snipers?
So this Thursday I’ll show up anything I show in advance?
I’m very interested

Welcome to TG, mindfulmu!!
I think snipers are shunned if a team has too many of them. It's hard to defend/capture flags with nothing but sniper kits in your arsenal...

Since you mentioned you're playing Thursday there's a few additional things to remember in TacMod:
1) No UAV/scan function so you won't show up as a red dot for your enemies to hunt
2) All kits have binoculars so the snipers role of recon is not unique to that class
3) Players are revived at 50% health so its easy to put them back down with almost anything you have, including pistol
4) No parachutes so don't trap yourself with a claymore guarding the ladder on a high roof
5) Friendly fire is ON at TG so be careful of where you place claymores
Claymores are going to be altered soon as well in TacMod, but I don't know the exact details so I won't mention them directly...
Intel is crucial in TacMod without "the all seeing eye" so snipers need to communicate often what they see on the ground to the higher-ups. Sure other classes have binocs but those with other kits are going to be more aggressively attacking/defending flags so the stealth factor in gathering intel still goes to snipers.
A well placed sniper/sniper team landing headshots can truly be a thorn in the side of an opponent. If your team can remain hidden long enough and have the patience to only kill an enemy facing away from you your opponent will probably lose a lot of tickets trying to locate your position and eliminate you...
You know you're successful when you start seeing a bunch of armor converging on your position trying to put an end to your reign of terror...
Good luck and happy hunting Thursday, mindfulmu!|TG-1stMIP|Coridon

Re: howdy
Wlcome to TG! For the tactics discussions check out the Tactics forums here: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...ns-discussion/
There is also a lot of information on www.tacticalwiki.com . If you are looking for tactics you found the right place. The Irregulars often have open pactices that cover things like movements and such. Hop over to the Irregs forum and see when the next open practice is happeningRetired 6th DB

Welcome to TG
As I'm sure you are aware a snipers power is diminished in vanilla
due to the dynamics of the game, especially the 8 sec respawn on squad leader
However are you gonna love tacmod, you will be able to truely surpress the enemy & provide intel with VOIP
I strongly suggest you download tacmod and the 3 map packs.

Re: howdy
welcome aboard Mindful...TG is the best place to play BF2...glad you found it. If you've been playing on pubbie servers filled with lonewolfs and renegade squads you'll be nicely surprised by the gameplay on the TG servers.
Hope to see you on the battlefield !|TG-1st|Grunt

I was on one of your servers last night and talking to sombody (dude I'm sorry I don't remember your screen name) and he was very helpful explaining the TC rules. I would of stayed but, well it was 1:30AM and I need to get some sleep. Thanks again, definetly be back tonight.
