Well I`m Gonna Say It
Hi
TG please institute a voip only policy on your BF2/POE servers.
I mean enough is enough with what I`ve been seeing on the servers and if TG expects us to handhold the pubs then they should support us somehow.
My thoughts are that if you have enough machine to run BF2 there is absolutely no reason not to have a mic (My eight year old daughter made more than enough selling lemonaide in front of our house in one day this summer).

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
There are other variables besides money.
I am sure many a person has went out and bought a mic after playing BF2 on TG. For some it just takes longer.
Give them more time.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
I dunno if id support a rule forcing EVERYONE to have a mic, but if it were for just the SLs i could support it.

I'm sorry, but I'm dead set against anything that would prevent me from driving a tank around without RoboCop around to repair.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
Some of us are too shy, some of us have sleeping babies nearby, some of us have been told to be quiet by our spouses . . . I'm sure there are many reasons why a person might not use voice comms.
I just feel like a dork talking to a computer, and need to get over it.Last edited by Maus; 09-14-2006 at 01:45 PM.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
Well
The whole point of my post is on voice CO/SL orders are correctly copied and acknowlged by the squadmember.
As far as tech issues are concerned anybody with a MB less than 3 years old has full duplex and can hookup on voice.
Nobody is that shy that they cant roger an order by their SL.
Well if it`s going to be a freeforall around the TG severs I will just squadhop as I`ve seen many TG members do lately.
I have a wife/children as well and my voice comms don`t seem to offend them.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
I agree that players not having a mic is a little annoying, but I don't think it's a necessity we should implement here at TG. For SL's and CO's, it'd probably be a good thing, but for some very good reasons mentioned above, I don't think it'd be a good idea to require mics to play here at TG.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
I have a mic but oftentimes I cannot use it because when I play it's usually around 2am onwards. If I wake someone up they will be quite pissed. I can usually get away with whispering on TS but the VOIP quality in BF2 isn't as good as TS so people can hardly hear me.
You could start up a VOIP only squad I suppose. Thats what people used to do at the beggining of BF2 here at TG before lots of people had mics.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
Bommando
that is my point exactly.
you expect us to hookup on TS to report on offenders but at the same time let the offenders go ingame.
So what`s the difference between them and us as at least we`re trying to control our squads ingame.
Voip only would lessen the strain on the ingame leaders if there were clearcut rules regarding teamwork.
Voip would go a long way towards achieving this goal instead of crying to the admins.
Obione would softly saying copy really wake up the whols house???

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
... How would admins know there are offenders in the game if nobody reports them?
It's up to COs and SLs to police the server themselves. If you have somebody in your squad that isn't following orders, tell them it's required on the server. If they don't listen to you, either kick them out of your squad or tell an admin.|TG-33rd|Dark_Viper

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
Well Viper
Proper admins are supposed to be in game and checking things out
That and the fact that everyone would be on voip.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
You know What
Like I said before just forget I mentioned it
Lack of voip is my pet peeve as well as TG lads that squadhop the squad as soon as there is the least reason
Maybe being a stat whore is the way to go as voip teamwork is`nt widely accepted by the community.
This is something to ponder.

Re: Well I`m Gonna Say It
Well, I'm sure when they are playing, they actually trying to play the game. They are working with their squad and teammates to complete objectives, not just take up a spot in the server to stare at the text chat and looking for abusive players.
What it comes down to is: the admins are around to help people. If you have a problem, bring it to their attention and I'm sure they will help you to the best of your ability.|TG-33rd|Dark_Viper
