Need help with changing ingame name.
Sorry to make a thread all about this but i didnt know who to ask. Basically i bought Battlefield 2 long time back but stoped playing cause it hogged down on my computer but now i have a new comp i wanna get back into playing it. Well i want a different name from the one i had back then but cant for the life of me work out how to change it, Is there a way?
Hope to join you lot on the server once this is done, after ive been having some great times with the CSS lot of tactical gamers i wanna see what the Battlefield lot are like.

You will need to create a new account with a new email to change your name.

hmmm thats the conclusion i was coming to aswell, is there no way to delete the old account so that i can use the same email, since i only have one email.

Nope.. you can only delete it from your computer... it remains on EA. Id just create a new hotmail acct. or somthing, thats what I had to do

EA won't delete old accounts, it's really annoying. In the demo I registered Lorian, and for the life of me I can't figure out what email address I used or what my password was. EA won't do anything about it, even though they can see it has never been used.

well i just went through the whole creating new hotmail to find out the name i wanted had been taken hahaha, does this mean when people want to add tags to there name they have to create a new accout ?

I'm pretty sure you can give them a fake e-mail address, since there's no confirmation process. The email seems to be largely for account recovery only.

I just use username+whatever@googlemail.com, it passing it straight on to username@googlemail.com.

You can add a 6-character tag using the "Prefix" option in-game. If you want to add a tag longer than that, then you have to create a new soldier.
Bleak's right - you only need the email address if you loose/forget your password, so you could just make something up if you really wanted to.

All but one of my accounts were made with fake e-mail addresses.. I have never had a problem with any of them. No EA spam FTW.
