Desert Conflict.. Lets Play!
I have been playing and we should play it together, what a great mod.

Agreed. The weapons are what BF2's should have been (they have accuracy, for one thing), and the maps are superior from what I've seen. Of course you don't get the full feel of a mod until it's on TG, since the pub servers are full of idiots.

I'm sure you'll see some planned Dcon action coming soon. Make sure to have it downloaded so when any announcement comes out, you're all ready!

I played with whistler for a little bit, and I like it, although I die more than I kill, and the public servers care little for teamwork. The only major problem I found was that when the round ended and the next one started, we couldn't hear each other's mics at all, and I couldn't leave the squad. I had to reconnect at the end of every round to make things work.

For an alpha version it's very playable, but I have noticed a few bugs from time to time.

Yeah, I think it's terrific. But I agree. It'll be better once it's on Tactical Gamer. Hope that'll be soon, guys.

If you havn't played the Objective mode yet you are really missing out. Lost Village, Outskirts of Mosul and Weapon Bunkers are great and would be popular here I think. As a mapper myself, I'd have to say that Outskirts of Mosul might be the most impressive map I've seen on the BF2 engine to date.

I'll probably be pub raiding a bit later tonight. I'll be on teamspeak if anyone else wants to join.

Re: Desert Conflict.. Lets Play!
played a little earlier, cant say i like it. one server was populated with six people running CTF - boring. the weapons feel meaty but it was taking ~10shots (confirmed hits) to the back at point blank range to kill the enemy from an M16, lots of bunny hopping. i just dont like it.
i was expecting something similar to DC but what we have is UT in the Gulf, i will stick to PR.

Re: Desert Conflict.. Lets Play!
There are some CTF fanatics out there, but I've always thought that CTF mode was never really intended for this type of game.
I like a lot of the changes they've made to missiles, tank speed/endurance, weapon accuracy, etc. They also have great maps, and I'd like to see them add some of the other BF2 levels like Karkand to it, too.

Re: Desert Conflict.. Lets Play!
I just got the chance to play EOD2 today, and I was impressed by it. There are some major balancing issues on some of the maps and they're going to nerf down the sniper rifles, but overall it looks very promising. Despite the foliage the maps run a lot more smoothly than DC2 and it has a completely different atmosphere than the BF2/DC2 maps. (I would like to see them add some city maps, though.)
